Friendly atmosphere and very clean

Very clean hotel with friendly staff. The kitchen is very good. I come to the Hotel Kreller once a year and feel very comfortable there. Absolutely top, I would always recommend. Parking behind the hotel can be reserved in advance.

Ideal base

We don‘t like chains and prefer a small family run hotel with German/regional character. Hotel Kreller is within easy walking distance of all this attractive city‘s attractions. A little old-fashioned, but clean and functional. The cobbled street makes the odd passing car noisy, but we slept well. The nice terrace at the back is shady and quiet. All staff faultless. Excellent steaks.

Modern rooms in historic building

We recently stayed here for 3 nights and were very pleased. A fan was in the room to alleviate the day"s heat. It was modern and comfortable with an excellent shower. Extra pillows were provided upon request. The tasty breakfast buffet was included in the reasonable rate. A parking space can be reserved for only 5 euro per night. Highly recommended.

Outdated

Outdated room and when we arrived for breakfast at 9am (breakfast was open until 10) the plates were all empty. There were hardly anything left, juice bottles were sitting empty on the counter, no one offered us coffee or tea. We had to go and knock on the kitchen door. They put out a new juice bottle but didn’t refill anything else. The coffee was weak. Parking was extremely limited and when we arrived at 9pm all spots were taken and we were told to go to a public parking garage and pay some 10€ to park there. Poorly managed. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Not a 4 star hotel but friendly staff

Stayed in this hotel with some family for 4 nights for a wedding. Hotel Kreller has a prime location right in the center of Freiberg. Friendly staff and found it relatively clean. I was fortunate enough to get one of the newer rooms in the third floor but even so I found this hotel dated and most definitely not apt to be considered a 4 star hotel like it claims to be. My sister got a room in the second floor and the old furniture + carpet floors in the room were simply unacceptable.
I do hope they’ll invest in some major renovation.
