spotless amazing spacious and cozy room. Bathroom with heated floor and luxurious bathtub. Generous and varied breakfast, one of the best we had in Europe. Friendly and helpful reception service. We enjoyed it very much

Always suitable for a short stay in Freiburg
The 4-storey building with 43 single or double rooms is in perfect condition. During our stay, guests came primarily from the age group of 50 to 70 years old. We booked a double room and a single room with breakfast through Booking.com. For both rooms (3 nights) we paid a total of approx. 855,00€, which we felt was still ok by Freiburg standards. Incl. was the Wi-Fi access. For the TG in the opposite city hotel an additional 19.00€/day had to be paid. Here was also the 24-hour reception. In the actual design hotel it was closed for renovations. This also applies to the breakfast room, which was also located in the city hotel. Although this was a bit cumbersome, it bothered us less. However, we did not notice any work during our stay at the design hotel; there is a suspicion that this is probably the permanent solution.
Our room was around 25 sqm and modernly furnished. It was equipped with air conditioning, minibar, telephone, flat-screen TV with the usual programs and an in-room safe (with combination of numbers). The furniture was in perfect condition. The carpeting may not be for everyone. There was nothing else to complain about - good beds, quiet location and not clairvoyant. The bathroom or shower was about 4 square meters and also in good condition. Make-up mirror (this unfortunately could not be locked) and hairdryer were available. Fortunately, there are also plenty of storage options.
As already mentioned, breakfast had to be taken in the opposite city hotel. That was not particularly problematic for us. Breakfast itself is provided in buffet form. Everything you could expect in a hotel of this class was also available. Various types of bread/buns, coffee, tea, juices, eggs, bacon, sausage, salmon, cheese, jams, cereal, fruit, etc. The coffee machine is a bit of a problem at best; patience is required. A replacement solution should be considered urgently here. Timely follow-up was ensured. The clearing of the tables also took place promptly. Daily newspapers were available at the reception for personal use. We were very happy with the service. However, the room is only cleaned every third day; however, interim cleaning is possible on request. Nevertheless, we were satisfied with the reduced room service per se. Written explanations of the hotel, etc. are no longer available in the rooms. However, you will receive a welcome email with a link to the pages that provide information on this. If you don't have a mobile phone/PC, you're out of luck.
We were satisfied with the service at the reception. The most necessary was explained to us. Additional questions were answered competently. We felt very welcome as guests.
The location is great. The hotel is close to the center. Everything is within walking distance. The cathedral, for example, is only about 500 metres away. All other public transport is also within walking distance. You don't really have to mention anything separately about Freiburg itself and its tradition. There's everything you could want here. And for those who stay longer, the Black Forest with its charms is ultimately right outside the door.

could be a lot better for a city hotel
First of all parking. Car park was for the hotel was full. There’s limited parking on the street and it’s expensive. As mentioned in previous reviews, check in is in the hotel opposite. Staff were friendly however the trainee didn’t set up our key card properly so it didn’t work, back across the street to get that sorted.
The room was spacious and seemed clean. There are no tea and coffee facilities and no mini bar just an empty fridge and one bottle of water. There were two of us in the room! There is a note to say if we require any cold drinks or snack to use the vending machine downstairs - it would help if the vending machine worked.
Never knew such slim pillows existed and one of them seemed to be filled with chopped up foam. They looked a bit grey. Interesting glass wall between the shower and the bedroom. Take note if you are sharing with your granny.
Cleaners were a delight. Not even a smile as they left their hoover leads across the corridor causing a trip hazard.
Lift makes a disturbing noise and things are hanging off the walls in the corridor.
Breakfast is cramped to say the least and extremely busy. There doesn’t seem to be enough tables considering the number of guests in all three hotels.

Top hotel in Freiburg am Stadtgarten
Great hotel near the city garden, very quiet and clean. Get/reserve a place in the TG. Modern design. Check-in/out problem-free, nice room in the DG with view to the Münster. Air conditioning effective; clean bathroom with great shower. Betten/WLAN top. Waren zum 2. Once there and will book it again on the next trip.

Great location and beautiful rooms.
This hotel is located across the road from the main hotel where you’ll find reception, parking garage and breakfast room. The breakfast was really good with a wife choice of hot and cold foods. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The underground parking garage was great although it did cost extra. The rooms were modern, stylish and very comfortable. The only negative I can give is that the WiFi did not work at all during our stay which was very disappointing.
