Not up to current standards.

Unfortunately, there is no internet reception on the TV and no connection options for external devices. The receptionist does not respond to inquiries regarding this (or is overwhelmed).

Dass Sie die eingeschränkten Anschlussmöglichkeiten am TV bemängeln, können wir nachvollziehen. Allerdings verfügen unsere Fernseher grundsätzlich über verschiedene Verbindungsoptionen. Diese wurden aufgrund zahlreicher Manipulationen durch Gäste teilweise bewusst eingeschränkt.
Eine derart pauschale 1-Stern-Bewertung ausschließlich wegen dieses Punktes halten wir dennoch für völlig unverhältnismäßig – insbesondere, da sämtliche anderen Leistungen und Angebote unseres Hotels unerwähnt bleiben.
Auch Ihre Behauptung, unsere Mitarbeiterin sei „überfordert“, weisen wir entschieden zurück. Nicht jede Entscheidung oder technische Einschränkung ist ein Zeichen von Unfähigkeit.
Darüber hinaus möchten wir anmerken, dass Ihr Zimmer bei Abreise in einem außergewöhnlich ungepflegten Zustand hinterlassen wurde. Unser Housekeeping-Team benötigte fast zwei Stunden, um das Zimmer wieder in einen vermietbaren Zustand zu bringen. Gerade deshalb empfinden wir Ihre öffentliche Kritik als besonders unangemessen.
Zudem fällt auf, dass Sie auffallend häufig ausschließlich 1-Stern-Bewertungen vergeben. Das lässt leider eher auf eine grundsätzlich negative Haltung gegenüber Dienstleistern schließen als auf eine objektive Bewertung unseres Hauses.

Highly recommended

We were there for an opera visit to the musical theatre in the precinct and felt in good hands in this hotel and also in the restaurant.
The rooms are very nicely decorated, the bed is a dream, the bathroom was large, clean and spacious.
The hotel is right next to a railway line that is only served by freight trains and my room was so close to this railway line that I thought the trains were going straight through my room. Didn't bother me personally because I grew up next to a railway line. For whoever it bothers, earplugs are ready.
The staff, especially in the restaurant/bar, were extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious!
A tip for all visitors to the hotel: You can visit the North Star Tower 100 metres away on weekends. A mining museum and landmark of Ruhr mining. There is a permanent exhibition on mining on several floors, which is really worth seeing.

I liked the room decoration, fueniture and amenities. That it is not noisy and it is very clean. Also liked the restaurant.
Didn’t love that we had to book in advance for a table at the restaurant and we didn’t know this.
