Good stay, something to improve
A great hotel:
Beautiful location, welcoming property. Quiet and very spacious rooms. Kind welcome, welcome chocolates, online check-in to speed things up, fridge in the room (useful in summer), walk-in closet, toilet and shower in separate rooms.
Average prices, in line with the property.
Breakfast is quite expensive: very good, but I would like to make a few comments:
- little variety: the same thing every day. It would be enough to offer different smoothies throughout the week, change the cakes / pastries, vary the savory options (perhaps provide some different sauces, different vegetables,...). Even the fruit served with the yogurt is always the same and not even in season. Too bad, after 2 days breakfast became boring!
- very friendly service but... disorganized! Drinks and eggs are served at the table... but the waiters keep wandering around without knowing which table to go to, and in the meantime the hollandaise sauce hardens, the coffee gets cold,...
- lack of allergen information / alternatives: there is no gluten-free bread, no lactose-free alternatives...
Small things, but given the price of breakfast, they should be fixed!
Overall, it is still a hotel that I recommend and that will make you feel welcome during your stay in Hamburg!

Luxurious hotel
This is the second time i stayed at this hotel. It's very stylish and the entrance is dominated with a very popular and good bar, and just beneath is the restaurant, who also is highly recommend. Remember to book ahead, as it is very popular. I stayed int the east splash room. Very spacious and a nice bed. Highly recommend.
The breakfast has everything you want. Good coffee selection and a omelet station, you can also get scambled and fried eggs, and softboiled eggs.

Nice styling for entire property. Staff was very friendly, and Haribo candy at front desk. Breakfast was very good, although seemed over-priced at 35 euro per person.

We had an excellent stay at east Hotel Hamburg and would gladly stay here again. The hotel has a very distinctive design style with a lot of attention to detail, from the furniture and lighting to the overall atmosphere of the property. It feels modern, well maintained, and thoughtfully put together with creative flair.
We didn’t dine in the restaurant, but we did have drinks there a couple of times and really enjoyed the space. The restaurant and bar area has a unique immersive light installation along one wall adding to the overall artistic atmosphere.
We originally stayed in the older section of the hotel, but due to construction noise from a new spa being built, the staff kindly moved us to the newer wing. Both sides of the hotel were very well kept and comfortable. The older section had nicer garden views, while the newer side included an nespresso machine in the room, which was
appreciated.
The bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower had excellent water pressure and reliable hot water. The staff throughout our stay were professional, helpful, and accommodating. The location was also very convenient, close to the Reeperbahn and Metro in St. Pauli.
My only criticism would be the shower design in the newer rooms. The shower area is quite open with a clear glass door, and a bit more privacy would improve the setup.
Overall, this is a very good hotel with strong design, a great ambiance and excellent service. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Hamburg.

The greeting is the key to success!
We were at EAST for dinner on May 25, 2026. The restaurant opens at 6:00 PM. However, we were on site at 5:50 PM. A gentleman walked past us and said we were too early and would have to wait. We were not offered a place at the bar. We have not been greeted awkwardly anywhere yet. The food was very good and the service at the table was also excellent. Price/performance ratio is acceptable. If it weren't for the greeting...
