Pleasant stay. Good location as a base.

The location is perfect and no noise pollution at all, which I expected given the hustle and bustle in the area surrounding the location. Good and quick help at reception. The room was clean and the beds were fine. Price quality okay.

Maximum one hostel

If you want to rate something positive then the location. Everything else is underground! There is not even a glass/cup for the toothbrush. We wouldn't book it again. Is a maximum of one hostel.

Basic and good value

If you want a place to stay central to the main party area this is the place for you. Located just minutes walk for the S Bhan tube line. Rooms are good size and clean but no facilities for changing towels etc over our weekend stay. Reception didn't open to 3pm for check in on day of arrival. Facilities basic but great value for money.

Basic, But Clean - get what you pay for!

The hotel is set in a square that looks so grim on arrival (if arriving in the day) If you're coming to Hamburg for a relaxing, luxury city break then cancel and go somewhere else!
With the hotel, its cheap, but clean & basic. Be aware the 'check in' is actually a bar and doesn't open until 15.00hrs. we were on a room on the top floor ('family room') it had 2 single beds pushed together in one room with a space for clothing, another hanging rail & a TV. The bathroom was basic, but again clean. The other bedroom had 2 fold up single beds (which my friend did tip out of one night) with a space for clothing and another hanging rail. All the bedding / linen / towels was clean and there was more available if you asked.
With regards to the other negative reviews I cannot comment on the other rooms, but I would describe this hotel as travel lodge standard. When your going to a place like this, on the drink paying 30-40 quid a night what, in reality are you really expecting?
The staff were friendly and the location was fantastic. There was no safe, we got two sets of keys, I personally had no issues with the wifi, there wasn't a cleaner in every day either. We took the train directly from the airport to St. Pauli and it was about a 3-4 minute walk to the Hotel. There are so many bars literally on your doorstep, the port is about a 5-8 minute walk away & the train links are fab! For the price & location I couldn't fault it at all. Would recommend.

Stag Doo Perfection

Stopped here second week in April for me mate’s stag doo. 15 of us went and this was pretty much perfect for what we needed. My reviews are largely based on how much I paid & what I expect from that. Please bare that in mind.
ROOM: had everything you could of wanted, shower, decent beds, TV, wardrobe etc etc. It wasn’t high quality by any means but I’d say Travelodge standard.
PRICE: we paid £120.00 a room for a 2 night stay, thurs and Friday. Considering the location it was a great price.
LOCATION: it about 5 minute walk to the reeperbahn and very close to local shops, a train/tube stop and local bars etc. It’s very well located. A good distance to tumble back too after a big one.
DECOR: for the price it was acceptable, there wasn’t room for improvement but that’d result in the price going up and we only really needed a decent shower and a decently bed so it was ok.
I would come back for the price. Not really suitable for a couple but that’s only because I’d treat me mrs to something better quality. All in all I’d say a 4 star review was fine.
