We booked and paid in advance for a seven-night stay. Check-in on 4 August was initially pleasant, and we were specifically advised by the receptionist not to drink the tap water and told that bottled water would be provided during our stay. For the first three days, housekeeping left two bottles of water in our room each day.
On our fourth evening, we returned after visiting family and discovered that the water and coffee had not been replenished. We contacted reception simply to request them.
What followed was completely unexpected.
The member of staff we dealt with was rude and aggressive and told us to come downstairs and get water from the tap at reception. When we explained that this contradicted what we had been told at check-in, we were told that if we wanted bottled water, we should go and buy it ourselves.
I expressed my disappointment at the way we were being spoken to and said that this was not the level of customer service I expected from a four-star hotel. When it became clear that the conversation was getting nowhere, we stopped engaging and returned to our room.
Approximately ten minutes later, there was a knock at our door.
It was the police.
We were told that the hotel wanted us to leave. We repeatedly asked what we had done to justify this, but no proper explanation was provided. We were then escorted out of the hotel at approximately 11pm, despite having prepaid for seven nights.
We were visitors to Germany, unfamiliar with the area, and suddenly found ourselves having to find alternative accommodation late at night.
I want to be very clear: we were not violent, threatening or abusive. This began with a request for the bottled water we had been told would be supplied and which had been provided on the previous three days.
Regardless of any disagreement over whether bottled water was complimentary, I cannot understand how the appropriate response was to call the police and have paying guests removed from their accommodation late at night rather than asking a manager to speak with us and resolve the situation.
To make matters worse, because we had to leave unexpectedly, my reading glasses appear to have been left behind at the hotel.
I have submitted a formal complaint and requested that the hotel investigate what happened, preserve the relevant CCTV and incident records, explain why the police were called, locate my missing glasses and refund the unused portion of our prepaid stay.
This was an extremely distressing and humiliating end to what had initially been a pleasant stay.

Great but not wow.
Really lovely room. Good breakfast. Although you could sit out and eat breakfast. Really nice with a small self-service store, so you could buy snacks and drinks.
- staff were polite but did not seem to gide to be at work.
- the buffet Saturday night was really poor relative to the price. So we skipped dinner.
- The World Cup bronze match was not shown (!!) but a Norwegian family pityed and put their own PC on the big screen.

We only stayed one night and we choose it for the location close to highway, closed parking and easy charging. Area itself has nothing to offer, for dinner outside the hotel one need a car.
