We booked the three-day New Year's Eve program and were delighted in every respect - starting with the friendliness and attentiveness at reception, the professional and warm service, the stylish ambience in the restaurant and the rooms decorated with great attention to detail.
Another highlight was the excellent cuisine on all evenings. The menus were optimally put together and also visually presented in very high quality. The wines served with the menu were selected to match perfectly.
Not only the hosts but also the entire team impress with their friendliness, expertise and high motivation.
We were there for the first time, thank you very much for the wonderful days and will definitely be happy to come back.

a nice hotel with a downside
A very beautiful house lovingly furnished in historic walls and a recent extension.
Room
Positive: plenty of space, spotlessly clean, excellent beds.
Negative: the cushions on the wooden armchairs may be eco-friendly, but you can't sit on them for more than 15 minutes; the room is quite dark during the day as the bushes next to the patio door need to be trimmed.
Breakfast
Excellent, rarely have I experienced such a large selection of such high quality, egg dishes always freshly prepared

Positive: small, fine selection of top quality, fine wine list with acceptable prices
Negative: apart from one main course (22€ for a dish with horseradish) everything costs 34€ and more

Holidays in the old homeland
Our stay at the Romantikhotel Alte Vogtei was a romantic and historical experience. The charming half-timbered house, also known as the birthplace of F.W. Raiffeisen, offered a unique atmosphere that transported visitors to another time.
Our room was a perfect mix of tradition and comfort. The loving furnishings and harmonious ambience made for a cozy yet stylish accommodation. The bed was extremely comfortable and we enjoyed the tranquility of the surroundings for a restful sleep.
The Wortelkamp family and their team at the Alte Vogtei were warm and very attentive. Each of our requests was handled with a smile and great care. The hospitality was remarkable and contributed to my overall positive impression.
The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone who wants to experience the charm of the Westerwald. The surrounding landscape is breathtaking and invites you to take relaxing excursions. As a native of the Westerwald on a trip down memory lane, I was able to look at my old home with different eyes.
The culinary offerings at the hotel were excellent. The chef Markus Wortelkamp spoiled us with excellent menus prepared from fresh local products. Every dish was a delight.

Old fashion hotel in Rheinland-Pfalz
For my job I travel a lot all around Europe and, of course, I change accomodation frquently. And always is such a lottery, because often you don't know where you have to go.
But here I was lucky: someone booked for me this old fashion hotel, really old, with good accomodation and very nice restaurant.
The rooms are of course linked to the age of the building but remains the fashion with vintage furniture.
However the hosting was really good and not so far there is the chance to have nice walks or runs around the hllls.

Faultless service, effortless charm, superb food
The Family Wortelkamp who run this hotel and all their staff could not have been more charming and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and perfect for our needs; the Hotel itself is beautiful and excellently maintained. The food is exceptional and the wine list is superb; in the hands of the charming Frau Wortelkamp, you will be taken on an exploration of the wines of Pfalz, Markgraflersland and beyond. One of the finest hotels that I have ever been lucky enough to stay in.
