Just super good

So now a year has passed and it is April 2026. We are back and enjoy the stay. You always think that this kind of performance has to wear off at some point, but that is not so!!!
For us, the hotel is one of the top 3 in Germany and the staff in particular contribute to this. Which is just super good!
From breakfast service to cleaning staff all are very, very friendly and extremely competent. (exemplarily Mr Grüning
(hope this is spelled correctly?))
So all 10 thumbs up.
Otherwise see below:
We were in mid-April 2025, on Feb. In the hotel. The first time was great, and great. But this time, it was just perfect. We had the bathhouse suite with balcony, and this was worth every euro. Everything clean and tidy, the service is just awesome, which in turn m times proves the good staff, with so I hope fair pay is the backbone of every business. The staff is professional and always very, very friendly. The food is very, very good and varied !!!!
Yes this is a hotel o we always like to travel there and also very, very much like to stay, and whether it has come of age or not and has to decide everyone for themselves, but I think that fits so exactly... !!! Thank you for a super nice stay and we will always love to come back.

Completely out of touch with reality and 5 stars, where are they supposed to be?

My friend and I wanted to have a wellness weekend in the Harz. We chose the Landaus Zu Den Rothen Forellen. We arrived on Friday. The rooms are really showing their age, as the saying goes, and there was dust under the bed. Investment backlog is evident and quality looks different. The wellness facility is very nicely designed. However, we had to carry our loungers out to the open garden by ourselves. No staff in sight anywhere. On the terrace of the associated restaurant at 8:00 PM, we waited in vain for 30 minutes to order a cold drink, and then we left without a drink (30 degrees Celsius outside). Of course, we complained at the reception. No one really cared. So this establishment is declared a 5-star hotel. How that came to be is truly a mystery to me. The prices for the food are completely inflated, and we won't even talk about the drinks. 27 euros for 4 Radlers???? You can't even find that in Berlin.
The total price for Friday to Sunday is equivalent to a week in Turkey with all-inclusive for one person. We were there for the last time. In summary: Well located, beautiful house made from nothing.

Anti-social hotel

Most reviews should be fake. This hotel is not good at all. We were directed to another building behind the hotel that is not shown in the photos. Poor service, smelly room, not aired and no exhaust or window in the toilet. Poor service at the restaurant. If you have a complaint, the manager just happens to speak English. And feels very powerful and proud that he only wants to speak German in a 5 star hotel. We drove straight home. They also simply charged the credit card for the money. They don't answer email. I have stayed in many hotels, but have never experienced anything like this. I can't believe there's such a thing.

Small Resort in Ilsenburg

Charming hotel around a beautiful pond in the village of Ilsenburg, high prices but justified by high standard.
I had a suite room with lake view, very large and spacious with all the facilities, around reigns silence too bad to stay there only one night.
The breakfast was great and plentiful with local produce, the Service staff is really nice.
Convenient parking attached to the hotel and there is an indoor pool.

Should be downgraded to 3 stars instead of 5

Of a 5 star hotel, a somewhat loopy experience. At the spa/massage booking it went wrong and no one came. It should work when it is just a spa hotel.
The fitness room is really loose. A running tape, an X-trainer and a motorcycle and 10 handweights. It's not okay.
Staff and food are all OK, but nothing exceptional. And that should be with 5 stars.
