Accommodation for Weeze Airport

Fly into Weeze Airport (which is pretty remote). Booked this hotel in nearby town of Kevelaer, which is a 20 minute bus journey from the airport. Hotel ideally located 3 mins walk from train station/airport bus drop off/pick up point.
Simple and straightforward accommodation but ideal for a short stay.

It was fine.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Everything was very clean, breakfast was good. Were satisfied.

AVOID, DO NOT BOOK!!!

Zero out of 5 for this hotel.
Before making the booking, I emailed the owner to ask if it was okay to check in later as our flight wasn't arriving until around 11pm at Weeze Airport. They said this was fine, so I went ahead and booked a room.
We had some difficulties getting transport from the airport to the hotel and we arrived at the hotel around 1230p. No one was around, I tried the buzzer and tried to call - nothing! Luckily, the door was open, my son and I had to sit all night on the stairs as the owners didn't bother to check if we were there.
We left at 430am to get an early train to Dusseldorf.
Very poor, and I'm extremely disappointed and angry that the owners didn't or couldn't care less.
Avoid this hotel, do not book!!

Couple’s break

Booked here after finding out that no trains or buses run in to Düsseldorf from Weeze airport on the last Edinburgh flight out but we contacted the hotel and explained it was a late flight and they replied what we thought was that they lived in the hotel 24hrs but they were saying was they were only going to be there until 00.00 and our flight was delayed it was our misunderstanding so when we arrived 25mins late at 00.25 and pressed the door buzzer it went to their phone and said we had woken her up but most hotels have a key box for late arrivals so she wasn’t very happy and was very dry with us the next day even though we apologised I thought that was very rude this hasn’t changed my review as I believe it’s about the hotel not the hosts.The hotel is very basic but clean the duvet was thin but the room was big with a two seater couch.The breakfast was continental with fresh bread and boiled egg the coffee was very nice also but had to pay separately €8 roughly.The train station is so close we got a all day ticket for 5 people that covered us for bus train and trams in Düsseldorf any took 1 hour and 5 mins and the weeze airport scuttle bus was there too.Unfortunately I would not use this hotel again if getting a late flight I would book one with a door key or number door lock

Good place, good hosts...

Visited the hotel only for a night, as my trip had got pre-pond and my other hotel was full. But will definitely prefer for stay the next time.
Good things..
- Place is clean and quiet,
- the hosts are really helpful, Loved the hospitality
- outside the room there is special self service area for tea and books, which is very well made...
- good location
- attached restaurant serving good food and liquor
Only drawback, rooms are on 1st floor and they don’t have an elevator.
Overall a great place to stay, Rest its a superb place to stay.
