Overnight stay on the pilgrimage

We stayed at the Jagdhof for 1 night on the occasion of our pilgrimage and were very impressed. The room was spacious, clean and very quiet. The welcome was very warm. Dinner in the restaurant was a dream and the breakfast buffet was unbeatable. Really everything a pilgrim's heart desires is there.

Not a guy who keeps his word

We wanted to hold a big family celebration here. First, all of our wishes were met verbally, then we waited weeks for an offer. When it was time to sign the contract (after we had been kept waiting for months), verbal promises were suddenly withdrawn. This is completely unprofessional and actually fraudulent. The landlord was probably sure that he could fill his house that weekend and that we were vulnerable to blackmail because of the late hour.
I can only advise against it!

Hidden gem close to Vogelsberg vulcano.

Jagdhof at Klein-Heilig-Kreuz is still a little hidden gem. Locatet between Frankfurt and Kassel, providing perfect seminar rooms and accomodation. Enclosing one of my favourite restaurants as well. Very good price for value. My recommendation for this region.

One Night Stopover

While the Hotel was a very pleasant stay with a very nice room in a lovely rural setting and 2 very nice meals in the restaurant, our stay was soured by a very unsympathetic receptionist on duty at checkout. I had a business meeting locally and as my wife was quite poorly on the morning we left and I was told that if we wanted to keep the room until the afternoon we would have to pay the full price of an overnight stay. While I was more than happy to pay something for the undoubted inconvenience to the housekeeping staff I was not prepared to pay the nightly rate but I had to push her to grant her an 11 AM checkout which was welcome but no big deal especially as she could see the condition my wife was in and simply looking for a few extra hours rest.
So an otherwise very nice stay was somewhat soured by a jobsworth with no compassion.

Pretty hotel, with German efficiency

The whole area breaths holiday. That is the least you can say.
The service was good and to the point, the rooms where clean, sober, as expected.
We did not had the change to enjoy breakfast because we needed to be at work too early, but there was the possibility to have an lunch packet;
This was a bit sober, 2 small breads (cheese and meat) and apple, an orange juce and some muesli bars.
The food in the restaurant was honnest German food, altough my colleages did not had the best choises in there opinion. The wild-plate was good but not great and the pork-steak was only that, a big piece of pork. There could have been done more with that. My Jager-schitzel was excelent, as I know it.
Overall, probably a very good hotel to have a few days off and walk in the woods, but i don't think it's the best to stay for longer than that.
