Wonderful stay
On our way back we stopped at the Restaurant Hotel zur Post – without much expectation, but with hunger and the desire for a short break. What awaited us there, however, made this moment very special. Although the restaurant was very well attended, we were welcomed from the first moment with a warmth that is rarely experienced today. The friendly staff took their time, greeted us with a smile, offered us a nice, cozy place, lovingly lit the table candle and handed us the menus. Even in those first few minutes you could feel: Here you are not just a guest, here you are welcome.
Shortly afterwards, our drinks order was taken up – attentive, calm and without any hassle. Despite the bustling activity, there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the restaurant. It was lively but pleasantly quiet, so you could have a relaxed conversation and really enjoy the moment. This soothing tranquility, coupled with the cosy furnishings, immediately provided a sense of security and deceleration – exactly what you would want on a long journey back.
We decided to order à la carte and waited with anticipation. When the food was served, we were more than thrilled. The dishes were freshly prepared, lovingly arranged and simply excellent in taste. Every bite showed how much emphasis is placed on quality, fresh ingredients and traditional preparation. You could taste the passion and craftsmanship from the kitchen – honest German cuisine that comes from the heart.
A very special moment was the children's menu. Our little princess beamed all over her face and visibly enjoyed her food. In the end, the plate was completely empty – there can hardly be a bigger compliment. It touched us very much to see that even the little guests here are treated with so much love, attention and respect.
This visit showed us once again how valuable such traditional restaurants are. The Hotel zur Post is a wonderful alternative to the anonymous franchise restaurants for us. Here, humanity, hospitality and quality are at the heart of everything – and you can feel that in every detail.

Delicious food with great value for money
I had a dinner date with some of my colleagues there today. Great menu even with small dishes, the prices are reasonable, the ambience a little Australian. We had various schnitzels and once fish, for dessert ice cream and tartufo. The food was delicious, even if the schnitzel could have been a little thicker.
The service was very nice and attentive, even the cook came in between and asked if everything was fine.
All in all it was a great evening with delicious food.

Not wheelchair accessible
This hotel is advertised as wheelchair accessible. It is not. All rooms have steps to access them. I was refunded (thank you) but it is not acceptable to misinform clients then force them to find alternative accommodation late in the evening.

Nice quality and cheap accomodation, worth for my money!
We were looking for a hotel in travelling to CeBit in Hannover this year. And we luckily found this one which is for an excellent price, about 80kms away from the Hannover Messe and just few minutes away from highway.
The hotel is small, I can say family hotel. I was lucky to meet the owner who is very nice and friendly person. We talked for 3 hours and it was pleasure to meet him!
Room was big enough for 2 people, breakfast was tasty and enough food to choose from.
I really recommend this hotel when you look for nice place around this area!

Gutbürgerlich trifft Australien
Von außen Fachwerk, innen top modern mit australischem Flair!
Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut, sowohl was die Übernachtung inkl. Frühstück als auch das Restaurant betrifft.
Die Inhaber und Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend: trotz sehr später Anreise wurde die Küche offen gehalten.
Zimmer sehr sauber und geräumig, es war viel Platz um ein Reisebett für unser Baby aufzustellen.
Es gibt außerdem einen nett gestalteten Biergarten.
Ausreichend Parkplätze sind vorhanden.
