Once upon a time...

Once upon a time there was a home-style restaurant ...
We were here a few years ago regularly, even with friends, for food, home-style cuisine, well-kept furnishings, not cheap, but value for money was definitely right. What happened to it?! Tried again a few months ago, we were disappointed, but maybe it was a coincidence. Now currently for dinner on May 1st once again started an attempt - and unfortunately we were totally disappointed again. Strangely enough, the place was completely empty - that day! (it was packed in the place opposite). The food, roast lamb, cooked, the potato gratin warmed-old looking, raw inside - the price was in no way appropriate for this 'performance', the food an imposition, unfortunately, because the ambience is still appealing-maintained.

Driving by, there's much better in Franconia

Value for money restaurant is far from right if you know Franconia. We had work to do in Würzburg and turned off the A7 on our way north. Far too little on the plate at far too high prices (e.g. Coke zero = 4 €). I got fried cauliflower slices that you couldn't eat because they were practically raw!!?? Since you were probably too comfortable to blanch the vegetables beforehand and/or fry a little longer. The short time between ordering and serving says it all. I also had the impression that the mashed potato was an instant product, at least that's how it tasted.

The owner greeted us, showed us to our parking and then to our room. The staff is very friendly and helpful even with the language barrier. We had a wonderful meal that was just right and German all the way. The room is small but that being the only thing then not much to complain about. They have a very nice place and we enjoyed sharing it with them.
