Great place to stay & eat, only a 15 minute walk to historic city center

This is a typical Bavarian country inn, with a very nice biergarten. The owner/chef was exceedingly friendly, as were the rest of the staff. My room was basic, but very clean, big & bright with three large windows (it was Zimmer 3). Free internet worked fine. TV is approximately the size of your hand, but it's big enough if you really want to watch a program or two. The food was delicious, and after dinner I walked down the hill to the Altstadt, which is simply gorgeous. Mind you, the walk is down a fairly steep slope, so the walk back up had me puffing a little, but it was good exercise.
If you don't want to eat German food you will see a popular Italian restaurant as you walk down the hill on your right, about 5 minutes from the hotel. But once you get to the bottom (just keep walking straight), you will find many restaurants from which to choose. I will stay here again, and they give a pretty nice discount on the rooms if you can manage to be here on the weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay!

Never again!!!!

The rooms are extremely old, the bathroom is disgusting and there is mold everywhere, especially on the windows and in the shower. Disgusting!!! Everything is dirty, unkempt and unclean. That's why I wouldn't eat anything there, because the kitchen is probably no different. The staff are unfriendly and cold. Never again!!!!

Nice small hotel, great location

This is a nice, clean, somewhat contemporary small hotel, in a pleasant neighborhood away from the city center but still conveniently located. The restaurant is quite good and seems to be popular with local folks, as is the beer garden. It's only 45 minutes or so from the Munich airport, so it's a great place to spend the night before your flight. Plenty of free parking. We've stayed here 4 or 5 times and will probably do it again when we fly out of Munich. Landshut, incidentally, has a vibrant and charming city center (Altstadt) and is a great place to spend a few days.

OK for a stopover

The food/beer was excellent and the staff were also very pleasant. However there was rain on the evening of our stay and the corner of the car park where we has parked became a huge puddle. Our car was marooned and had we been able to get to it there was nowhere else to park. Also on arrival it was not obvious where reception was. In fact you had to go into the bar / restaurant area and speak to the waitress. We saw many other guests arriving after us looking similarly perplexed.

welcoming innkeeper

After reading the review on trip advisor, our group of 4 booked 2 rooms here for our last night of a month long trip around Europe. The location was great and made our trip back to Munich airport very easy. The rooms were immaculate and each had a lovely bathroom. The building is old, but the rooms were modern with internet access. The restaurant was really good and there was no smoking anywhere. The owner was lots of fun and we were so glad we booked here and plan to go back.
