This family-run hotel is a 10-minute drive or tram ride from Freiburg’s Old Town, and just 1 km from Mooswald Forest. Its spacious rooms feature free Wi-Fi and cable TV. Such a cute place

We arrived at 8:30pm and did an online check-in. Everything went smooth as supposed to. The place is really well managed. They were having trouble with the cold drinks machine and kindly provided everyone cold water. Everything was clean and the staff kind. We really loved the place!

Fake accommodation

We booked a room in Hotel Hirschgarten in Lehen near Freiburg via Booking.com.
When we arrived to Freiburg at 6.30 pm, we called hotel +49 761 883330 as was indicated in our booking information. The answering machine told that nobody is available now, try later or send email. We sent email with request to call us back to mobile phone but got no reply. We continued calling untill 11 pm and were forced to find in the middle night another hotel.
Next morning we called again, and lady in a hotel even did not apologized but said, probably telephone was not operating(??)
it is a shame that Booking is cooperating with such services!!

Really good

Really clean and comfortable budget hotel. Good WiFi connection. Easy and fast check-in and check-out. Although it is not so close to the city center and main attractions, anyway, great if you have a car.

No room at the inn

I cannot rate Hirschegarten as our reservation (and record of our prepayment) were lost in the ether and all rooms (except ours?? which was flooded we were finally told) booked. I must thank the owner tho' for fixing us up in Hotel Lowen 200 yards away ('phone bookings only) superior in every way, inc. room with a balcony, lovely, as was breakfast, with the offer of sandwich bags for lunch from the generous foodstuffs. A first for me.

Great Hotel; wonderful staff

I would consider this a “boutique hotel”. Quite small but very comfortable and decorated with a personal touch. The receptionist was very friendly and made us feel at home immediately. She directed us to a reasonable and excellent restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Breakfast was very reasonable at 5€ per person. Parking was secure and included in the cost of the accommodations. For such a small hotel, it’s unreasonable to expect that the reception desk is open 24/7 but we were told how to get into the hotel after hours. All in all, a very pleasant experience and highly recommended.
