Weekend stay

We had a lovely stay here. The staff are friendly, the rooms spotless and the grounds beautiful.
We stayed bed and breakfast. Choice of food was really good.
The hotel was quiet, a good place for restful stay

Once is enough.

A decent hotel. Rooms are in a well-renovated condition.
And then the disappointment. When reserving, one is made aware to reserve a table for dining due to high demand and also due to the fact that the nearest restaurant is nearly 15 minutes away.
However, according to the menu listed on the website, there is only a small menu, of course not seasonal but a 1970s standard, and there is no salad either....
Thank you, I will not come back.

Worst experienc ever!

I went here for a meal with a friend of mine who stayed in the nearby hospital. Since we still had time we were going to have a Cigarette before the meal. We didn't have any change so we asked (assuming this was the manager) if he could change us a €10 note. His answer was "No I can't, if you want to buy cigarettes...." and started giving us directions to a petrol station. "When I relied:" But you're a Restaurant you surely have change?", he just turned us away! Was this cause we came in tracksuits to his lunch service? I don't know since we were angry and hungry. Having managed several highstreet restaurants in London and Edinburgh, I can say this is very bad management/customer service, that turns paying customers away and judges by their looks or because they smoke. We won't be back here and will be spreading the word! No matter what an excuse that manager might have, it wont be good enough since we were made feel very unwelcomed. YOUR SERVICE WAS ONE OF MY WORST EXPERIENCES!
This kinda behaviour you would maybe expect from a waiter but never from management!

Poor. Experience Ruined at Check-Out (unfair charges)

Part of a larger group staying for a nearby wedding. Lovely weekend ended with unfair additional charges at check-out time, these charges were not explained at check-in and only explained in German within the room. Receptionist resorted to getting loud and slightly aggressive which made providing feedback at check-out an unpleasant experience.
- Room was large but hot (this was during summer months so understandable).
- This wasn't good value for money (one of only a few accommodations in the area)
Wouldn't return or recommend.

Very Nice Overnight Stay

Stayed here to attend a function in Lubbecke. Traditional feel hotel. Very pleasant bar, especially appreciated the Bar man who allowed us to sit in the bar until gone midnight and have a couple of drinks after we got back to the hotel at 11pm. Some places would close up rather than keep the bar open for only 3 guests. Nice comfortable room. Very quiet. Free parking. Breakfast room very large, light and pleasant. Breakfast good quality and plenty of choice. Very nice scrambled egg. Staff very pleasant, I did my best German but the lady owner does speak good English if required. Mini bar on each landing. Nice small lake at the back, would be very pleasant in summer. Only one small thing, they have a German Shepherd which sits behind reception. When we rang the bell on the reception he sprang to life and started barking really loudly. If you don't like dogs this could be a problem. I'm not a dog fan but it wouldn't put me off using the hotel again.
