Incorrect price-performance ratio

We only slept one night in the hotel and had a superior double room. At such prices in a 4-star hotel, I expect that there is no long hair hanging down from the shower head and that the water drains very poorly from the bathtub due to hair. There were deposits on the sink drain.
The room itself was nice and had enough space, but there is no wardrobe or shelving. There is also no complimentary bottle of water upon arrival.
I cannot tolerate gluten or standard dairy products. That has never been a problem in good and upscale hotels/restaurants before. There was always soy milk. In this one, I was offered oat milk or lactose-free milk as an alternative, but neither of those works for me. I have never experienced that before.
My husband had white sausage for breakfast that was sour, which he felt in his stomach hours later and felt very sick. That is a no-go.
Otherwise, the staff was friendly.

More show than substance.

We were very much looking forward to the stay, but unfortunately, the joy quickly faded. Some things need to be worked on here. What exactly is the difference between the double room and the superior double room? Why are there so many categories? We got a room without a balcony for €420 for two nights. Additionally, there is an open bathroom, so one person never has their privacy and can even be observed while showering. The furnishings are outdated. Spa hours on Saturday start at 12 PM, while during the week it opens in the morning - what is the point of that?
In general, it seems more focused on profit than on guest satisfaction.

Bad experience

Very good fine dining restaurant with good service and exceptionally friendly staff at breakfast, that was it.
Hotel with a massive renovation backlog, extremely unfriendly reception, significant cleaning deficiencies, no wardrobe, quality of the towels like in a youth hostel, the extra bed was unacceptable and the double bed also leaves much to be desired.
Booking was made through Booking with a fixed price plus the local tax. The big surprise at check-out: a subsequently requested energy cost surcharge of €5, with the note that this was mentioned in the fine print.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Price performance not right

We were pretty disappointed with the hotel. The wellness area downstairs, as on the roof, is very small in each case. In the sauna on the roof you lie as if on a presentation plate. The shower is in the sauna. In the relaxation area downstairs it was as hot as in the sauna, not to endure. The music was disco music rather than relaxation music. There were no sunbeds outside
Food was also disappointing, the burger for 26,50 € was not a burger but a meat cake. The drinks too expensive and then an energy charge of 5€ was charged. Although the energy isn't even more expensive. The paths in the hotel are very complicated because the hotel is so nestled.
Positive the location at Malakoff Park and parking outside for free, walking distance to the city is quick. Staff very friendly with 2 exceptions.

This is not the future

The owner of the hotel is an old white unreflective man that the few very nice staff must suffer from. He is very resistant to female interns and their criticism. Upscale gastronomy will thus continue to find no young talent.
