Only stayed for a couple of nights during a road trip through Austria and Germany ending in Munich.
After reading through what seemed like far too many hotel reviews, we settled on Anagram Im Tal.
It was on a direct train line to the airport, and the location was in the centre of all the action in Marienplatz.
We arrived very early and we knew that our room would most likely not be ready. The check in desk is situated on the upper floor in the bar, so we were offered a complimentary drink whilst we sat and waited - a beer and prosecco. We had already prepaid for our room, but we were still asked to leave a credit card on file for incidentals. Not a huge deal, but this was the only time we were asked to do this on our entire trip, as I know it is less common in Europe.
The hotel was modern with an edgy vibe clearly geared to the more youthful crowd.
The room itself was very small which I already knew it would be when booking, however it was more than adequate for 2 people for a couple of nights. Any longer and we would have struggled due to the lack of counter space. There was a coffee machine, laptop compatible safe and oddly, a yoga mat in the room, but unfortunately no fridge. We were able to grab a small ice bucket from the bar for the room when needed.
The bathroom was small but immaculate, and even came with a complimentary condom!
All in all, the Anagram Im Tal was more than adequate for our needs and would definitely recommend for a short stay.

Modern and very friendly, excellent location for main Munich attractions and nightlife, loved the free welcome drink

Location is excellent for exploring the city. Recommend not staying on 4th floor on a Sat night, as music in the bar (on 5th floor) went late. Breakfast was great and staff very helpful.

Room was nice and spacious, aircon seemed to not cool the room down as much as we would of liked but they offer a fan that can be brought to the room to help circulate the air and that made a big difference and had a wonderful sleep. Nice location, close to everything that is needed.

Very kind staff, as soon as we arrived they offered us coffee and beer
Super central area, spacious room, nice little terrace, clean!!!! Everything perfect ♥️
