On a city trip with our grandson: The friendliness and competence of the staff in all areas were absolutely top-notch. As well as the location as a starting point for the various destinations.
Everything else absolutely met our price-performance expectations.

Disappointing Experience
A Disappointing End to an Otherwise Wonderful European Holiday
My wife and I stayed at Le Méridien Munich for the final portion of a two-week European holiday, following stays in Salzburg, Vienna, and Budapest. Unfortunately, this was by far the most disappointing hotel experience of our trip.
The most serious issue was housekeeping. Every day, we had to request housekeeping multiple times before receiving service. At a hotel of this level, guests should not have to repeatedly pursue something as basic as having their room serviced. Because this happened consistently rather than as an isolated incident, it appeared to reflect a broader management and quality-control problem.
Breakfast was another major disappointment. The food quality was among the poorest I have experienced at any hotel. Given the positioning and price level of Le Méridien, the breakfast operation fell considerably below reasonable expectations.
There was one important positive: the frontline staff members we encountered, aside from the housekeeping issues, were friendly, courteous, and pleasant. This made the problems even more frustrating because they seemed less about individual employees and more about management, supervision, and operational standards.
I expect to have more than 80 hotel nights during 2026, so my assessment comes from considerable experience as a frequent hotel guest. The properties we visited in Salzburg, Vienna, and Budapest during this same trip were well managed and delivered consistently good hospitality. Le Méridien Munich could benefit from examining how comparable properties maintain housekeeping standards, food quality, and basic quality controls.
Munich was supposed to be an enjoyable final stop on a wonderful vacation with my wife. Instead, our stay at Le Méridien provided an awful ending to an otherwise excellent two weeks.
The hotel has friendly people, but friendliness cannot compensate for weak operational management. Le Méridien Munich needs substantially better quality control, particularly in housekeeping and food service, before I could recommend it to other travelers.

The AC is not cooling... they have forced us for an upgrade because of we have our 4 year old kid while she is sleeping with us usually

Unfortunately disappointed again - air conditioning not sufficient
Unfortunately disappointed again. I booked Le Méridien Munich again because of my Marriott Bonvoy membership, even though I had not had good experiences there before. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met again. The check-in took an unusually long time and was not very efficient. Particularly disappointing was the air conditioning, which was apparently limited and could not cool the room sufficiently despite the summer temperatures in July. For a hotel of this category and a brand like Le Méridien, I expect significantly more comfort. Too bad – I will probably look for another Marriott option for my next stay in Munich.
