Quiet hotel with a lovely ambiance

We had booked a junior suite for one night.
The online check-in and check-out worked great, the service staff is very friendly.
The room with a view of the courtyard was pretty, furnished with old furniture, as is fitting for a castle. The room seems a bit sober, sterile. It lacks a bit of warmth and loving design.
We slept well in the four-poster bed, although the duvets were too warm in the heat. At night, there was absolute, soothing silence. Unfortunately, we could not open the windows at night; there were all kinds of crawling creatures around the window and, what I felt was an absolute shortcoming, there was no insect screen on the window. That must be retrofitted. Absolutely!
The food in the carriage house was top-notch; we had booked a 4-course meal and it was delicious. When looking at the menu, however, we found the prices much too high. At dinner, one also saw only very few visitors.
The breakfast was good, but not above average. There was a plentiful selection, which one can expect from a hotel of this size.
The garden is tiny; the flower beds, freshly planted, still need some time to flourish.
We used the pool and relaxed on one of the lounge chairs. The water was cold, but in the heat outside, the cooling off felt good.
There was one temporary limitation; reconstruction work is taking place, which causes dirt and noise during the day, but will surely be finished at some point.

Lots of room for improvement

For a 4-star hotel, our booked luxury double room was small and minimally furnished. The bathroom had no window, and standing at the sink, you were almost touching the sloped ceiling. Showering? An adventure. Because of the many slopes in the roof, the shower faucet was located at the end of the really narrow, but very high bathtub. Absolutely no talk of shower enjoyment. Especially for people with limited mobility, it is hardly manageable. Very little storage space in the closet. Of the cozy seating area in the advertised photo, only 2 very small, uncomfortable little armchairs were left. Due to the many sloped ceilings, it was very warm in the room; a small minibar with chilled drinks would have been very nice. For us, all of this together did not meet the standard we are used to at 4 stars. The only thing really worth highlighting is the staff in the breakfast service. Very friendly and attentive.
It would also have been nice to have information in advance about the construction work and the associated noise disturbance.

Beautiful castle, great nature, very quiet, for a short break

We booked a package. Included was a children's dinner in the Remise, the hotel's own restaurant, which was very nice. The food was very delicious. But the restaurant prices are unreasonably high.
The breakfast was very delicious, but the described gourmet breakfast is a bit exaggerated.
The room was very cozy and nice, the bathroom was renovated and therefore very comfortable. A minibar was perhaps missing.
It is a pity that one could not use the castle garden to relax. Sun loungers and some wellness would have been nice. You cannot really do wellness there.

Wonderful day

The room, the service, and the food were simply wonderful. Upon departure, we immediately made a reservation for next year.
