Wonderful, relaxing, scenic hotel (though simple)

My husband and I recently retraced my grandfather's path through Germany (he was a POW in WWII). One of the old Stalags was in this area. Though the reason for travel was not so lighthearted, our stay in Neuzelle was a pleasant surprise. This hotel is right across a pretty little pond from an ancient abbey (it's received a Baroque face lift, so it looks newer than it is). The staff here are very friendly, especially a woman who works in the mornings on weekends - she and her colleagues made us feel very welcome. And the rooms, though simple, are clean and cozy. The bathroom is HUGE compared to most European hotels. A window in the bathroom looked across the pond toward the abbey - we spent a few minutes just standing there admiring the view. The restaurant was decent and certainly convenient. And free parking! Definitely a plus.
The only quibble I had was that the bathtub/shower had a shower curtain rather than a sliding door, and the curtain was made of the kind of light fabric that gets sucked in by the air while you're showering. Hardly a reason to avoid the hotel.
Anyway, we had such a nice time here that we decided to extend our stay from one night to two so we could enjoy the abbey and the surrounding countryside. That's probably the highest recommendation for a hotel!

No recommendation to eat well.

Were at the restaurant for lunch on 12.04.2026. The food was freshly prepared yet tasty. Price/performance insufficient. Service was nice and fast and that was it. No recommendation from us !

Beautiful country hotel with great gastronomy

Centrally located mid-range hotel within sight of the famous Neuzelle monastery. Bed capacity has been expanded through further additions or takeovers on the other side of the street. The building (and the rooms opposite) are on a main road, with traffic being somewhat reduced by a bypass road. We had been given the last available room without knowing any details. It was a ground floor suite (living room and bedroom) with extra wide doors and a huge bathroom, presumably designed as a handicapped-accessible unit - also for wheelchair users. The hotel has an extremely spacious restaurant with several tiered terraces on the side facing away from the street. During the four days of our stay, the restaurant area was always well attended, including groups and family celebrations. The restaurant probably has a good reputation in the area. The menu is varied, although some pasta dishes offered unusual combinations that were perhaps intended to show creativity, but sometimes seemed "intentional but not skillful". But that shouldn't spoil the good overall impression. Dinner on the terrace with a view over a lake to the church is an atmospheric highlight! The area is also ideal for cycling tours along the Oder and Neisse. The local tourist information office rents out bicycles and e-bikes.

Good Hotel and Restaurant

This hotel offers good accommodation, food, service and is near the industrial city of Eisenhuettenstadt. The prices for the rooms are acceptable, the prices for the food are acceptable. As long time ago, this restaurant / hotel offers realistic quality of above mid-class level.

Nice athmosphere

Nice reception, clean basic rooms, good parking and location, food was good and ok prices, nice personell. Cold weather but I can image that is good base for doingtrips arround the area. Will visit again when I'm in this part of country.
