Surprising relax-hotel & restaurant in a little visited part of Germany

We had a great mini-holiday mid-August 2022 in Seehof am Aartalsee, where I staid with my pregnant wife and daughter in the New York room of the hotel. The room was spacious, comfortable and affordable, while the hotel itself and the outside restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere and great staff, many with Greek roots, which makes for great Greek dishes on the menu.
We forgot that we also booked breakfast and found out on the last day we didn't make use of it, but we didn't have to pay for it. Especially the outside restaurant is a great place to sit, also with children as there is a small playground right next to it with a view on the lake.
The lake itself could unfortunately not be used for swimming due to algae, but there are great recreational swimming places at 30 minutes driving from the hotel, both close to Marburg and Giessen. These are great bigger cities to visit in itself, as well as the historic towns of Wetzlar and Herborn. I feel this region of Germany is undervisited, but it actually makes for a beautiful area to explore, both for nature as well as culture reasons.

right in the heart of greenery - one of the most wooded areas in Germany - on an artificial lake stands this easy going hotel that carries a good restaurant - pretty much a place to relax and enjoy the peace of the surroundings

Stedet er ubemandet efter kl. 18.00 så derfor er det ret problematiske at det telefon nummer som står på Hotels.com ikke kan bruges.
Hotellet er meget gammelt slidt og misligholdt. Sengen var fin, sengetøj rent og pænt, håndklæder var af god kvalitet. Morgenmad var ikke nogen stor oplevelse men okay I forhold til prisen. Det er ikke et Hotel men mere et Motel som bruges mest af håndværkere, ikke egnet til turister.

Freundliche, zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter. Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet.

Die Lage am Aartalsee ist bestechend.
Unser Zimmer 10 im Annex war offensichtlich teilrenoviert (Badezimmer). Der alte verfleckte Teppichboden ist jedoch nur noch eklig und hätte offensichtlich schon vor vielen Jahren ausgetauscht gehört.
Zum Zimmer gehört eine Mini-Terasse mit 2 Stühlen (nicht in der Beschreibung), allerdings in einem ungepflegten und teils verwilderten Aussenbereich.
Da die Rezeption nur bis 18:00h besetzt ist, hatten wir über die Expedia App um Anweisung gebeten, wie bei verspäteter Ankunft umzugehen sei, aber nie eine Antwort erhalten.
Resümee: Für eine Übernachtung okay.
Das Frühstück war in Ordnung und die Auswahl am Buffet ausreichend.
