Good place to stay for a weekend in Potsdam

Quiet location, nice garden, comfortable beds. Very good breakfast in the garden pavilion. Very friendly staff. By bike you can reach all the sights of Potsdam in a short time. The very beautiful Babelsberger Park is within walking distance.

Older hotel that thinks it's Art Nouveau.
Our room was clean and was also shaped as part of our short trip, although not necessary.
The location is overall quiet and rather residential, which then also manifests itself in the evening possibilities. Since the hostel itself does not have a bar operation and there was also no fridge filled with drinks for self-catering, it was necessary to visit the local Edeka on arrival and at least to buy something for the little thirst. After that the walk to a good restaurant was a little further and was covered by car.
Unfortunately, the breakfast in the "garden house" then showed the same as not as extensive as hoped. Those who shop in Metro and Co. know from which package the sausage and cheese come; local products were not to be found. The whole thing garnished with a good coffee machine at any self-service. It's a pity, though, that something better can be offered here with the same use of goods.
The young man at the evening reception was very friendly and tried to make our stay pleasant and did not hold back with information; unfortunately, the colleague in the breakfast room, although friendly, was not so ambitious.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel with nice large room and bathroom.
Breakfast buffet was lovely without being stunning.
Select away from the railway, rooms 21 - 22-23 on the 1st floor 31-32-33 on the 2nd floor
Unfortunately, there is no elevator on site.
The place is almost like entering In private home

Comfortable stay and the hotel met all our needs.

We stayed there for five days over Christmas. The hotel building is quite old with lots of character. It is in a very quiet area and has easy parking either in the grounds or on street. It is about 15 minutes easy walk to to the railway station. The room was very clean and spacious. Continental breakfast is prepared in a separate, pretty, garden room building. There was plenty of choice, good quality and value for money. The staff were very polite. There were no tea making facilities in the room but there is kitchen on the top floor with kettle, coffee maker and fridge. We would definitely stay there again.

Unique Hotel in a Very Residential Area

This is a family run hotel located in an upcoming residential area within walking distance to Univ. Potsdam Griebnitzsee campus (10 mins) and Griebnitzsee train station (10 mins). If you are feeling lazy, you can take a bus from the train station. The staff is courteous, helpful, and professional. Hotel walls are decorated with interesting photos depicting history. We had a double room in the 2nd floor, and it was spacious, equipped with a TV, queen-size bed, desk, two comfy chairs (see photos). We had free wifi. However, after 10 mins of inactivity, you need to sign back in - was not an issue for us. We did not opt for breakfast. The hotel is located in a very residential area, mainly housing Univ. staff and students. There are no cafes, restaurants, or super markets near by. You need to get on the train/bus from Griebnitszee to Babelsberg (1 stop) or Potsdam (2 stops) if you are looking for these. We went site-seeing in Berlin from here by buying a day ticket (€7.70), which is valid on all public transport (train, bus, tram, 24 hr). We got on random trains, trams, and buses in Berlin and visited main touristy places. Overall the hotel is great (quiet, professional staff, excellent rooms) though, the location, being a residential area, is disadvantageous for tourists. For artists, writers, and people who need a quiet environment, this might be an excellent choice.
