Historic destination - must see in Vogelsberg, Hessen
This small hotel is located in a beautiful old atmosphere in the very cosy old village. The hotel is next to the church which was build in the 14th century. The very nice owner explained that the building is among the first buildings in town.
Room was very nice, service super and the breakfast very good. The reception was open only between 16.00 to 18.00.

Not a 4* hotel - we won't be back.
No B&B, no 4* hotel. This accommodation left us with ambivalent feelings. An unquestionably beautiful and clean room in the middle of the old town. On the one hand. On the other hand, the description speaks of four self-awarded stars and a "rich breakfast buffet". Unfortunately, neither of these things corresponds to reality.
What does it take, seriously, for four stars?
"16-hour reception service, physically available 24 hours a day via digital communication or telephone."
You will look in vain for a reception service. However, if you dare to call your host in the middle of the night, night-time communication might be possible.
"Lobby with seating and drinks service, hotel bar or lounge area
Breakfast buffet with service or equivalent breakfast menu
Minibar or maxibar, or 24-hour drinks in room service."
Unfortunately, none of this exists. I would be reluctant to let the fridge in the hallway with two bottles of water and two bottles of beer pass as a "maxibar".
"Comfortable seating (upholstered armchair/couch) with side table/shelf."
Yes, almost, there are two upholstered chairs.
"Bathrobe and slippers on request."
I suspect not, we did not have that request.
"Cosmetic items (e.g. shower cap, nail file, cotton swabs), cosmetic mirror, generous storage space in the bathroom."
Somewhat available, there is soap from the dispenser and storage space.
In particular, due to the complete absence of catering in the house (the restaurant is still in the service description, breakfast at least in the self-description, on TripAdvisor there is even something about free breakfast), four stars are the result of the owners' wishful thinking.
The restaurant and breakfast may have existed until Corona. But that was five years ago. To still state such things and continue to claim four stars is now almost fraudulent.
The bottom line: a nice room, without room service, without a restaurant, without breakfast. So definitely not a four-star hotel, more likely not a hotel at all, perhaps a kind of Airbnb. We won't be back.

Fairy tale accomodation in Wonderland
This a small cute hotel , located in a small fairy tale city, Schotten. The buildings in the city are old styled and the architecture is charming. Lots of exposed wooden frames and plaster. The hotel was neat and clean and had free internet. It has a nice view from the room window, overlooking the old styled buildings and cobble and narrow street.
The breakfast was too simple. It did not serve hot food at all. Only basic cereals,bread and Cold Cuts meats. The room was furnished sufficiently , more than an average hotel to make you feel cosy. Lots of books and magazines were already placed on the Study table.
There is a nice Italian restaurant in front of the hotel. It served a tasty meal and reasonable a cost.
In general this place is nice for those who want a to relive the History of old cities in Germany. It did not have a crowded city center as other tourist locations and this gives you an exclusive feel to the holiday as you are left undisturbed to enjoy the city all by your self and you family.

Another Great small hotel
Here is a small hotel in a small town that should attract many more visitors. We have stayed here a number of times over many years and are always delighted by Hochzeitshaus. The reception is friendly, the accommodations large and very comfortable. The breakfasts offer a variety of fresh breads, yoghourt, fruit, cheeses and so on, all presented artistically in a bright, sunny room over seen by the owner. Public areas offer refrigerator, micro-wave and utensils. There are CD's and a player as well. We will always come back.
The town itself is quaint with a magnificent church and architecture going back centuries. Every autumn there is a vintage motorcycle gathering and race. The countryside has many hiking trail and the town is central to many other attractions.

Hospitality Personified!
After reading the review of Morgan 1025, we decided to stay at Hochzeitshaus in June 2012, even though just for one night due to availability. Nothing but an overwhelming welcome and hospitality you would expect to find from our hostess Frau Wegner, such a pleasure to meet, and a honour to have befriended a delightful Lady. The help and advice received concerning our daughters huge interest in horse riding, and the possibility to have lessons within the local area was nulli secundus.
So much was the experience, we decided to stay at Hochzeitshaus again on our return journey from the South of France. Where we were welcomed in the same manner by Frau Wegner`s daughter, two of the most helpful people you will ever meet. And! Our daughter managed to ride on a horse called Lulu with the help of mother and daughter, a daughters dream that continues to this day.
You will not be disappointed with your stay, the rooms are fresh, comfortable and clean, the breakfast is a feast, and most important, the people are delightful.
