Perfectly satisfied

We booked 3 nights with half board at short notice because we wanted to see some things in the Harz Mountains. The hotel is a good starting point, both for hikes and tours by car, e.g. to Quedlinburg or Wernigerode. We felt in very good hands. The rooms were well furnished and spotlessly clean. Our room had the view to the floor. In the restaurant we were expecting a very good and plentiful breakfast buffet on which there was really something for every taste. For the evening there was home cooking, 3 courses, of which you could choose the main course from 3 dishes. An exemplary service was the "trout newspaper" (in the form of a leaflet), which provided us with many tips in the morning, starting from the weather forecast, many excursion tips, telephone numbers, parking facilities etc. and services offered by the house,

Ageing hotel. Not recommended.

The trip to Thale OT Treseburg was already an imposition. Treseburg is located about 10 km from Thale. In Thale, no diversion sign that the road to Treseburg is closed - i.e. first until the closure there and back - made a 30 km detour.
Treseburg is an absolute kaff - suitable exclusively for hiking (in good weather) and sleeping. The hotel is getting old. Equipment probably from the 90 ́s. Lamps defective or missing altogether. Impossible room layout, ancient and terrible seating, separate beds directly on the wall or radiator. In the room it smelled very strongly of insect spray.
The whole hotel smelled of food.
Every day coffee cruise buses with weird folk music incl. amateurish yodelling.
For the entire hotel-related village 5 parking spaces - for the hotel-related parking spaces 8 to 12 €/day and that in the absolute Pampa. There were still 10 free parking spaces 500 metres from the hotel.
Breakfast was generally good. Dinner cooked - bulk handling - canteen level. And: with a Hasselröder in the pampas for 7 €, the friendship really stops with me.

Fine if you go for the surroundings. Don't expect too much from the quality of the rooms

Had booked a comfort room. Room was approximately 20m2. A seat wasn't really there. You could only lie on your bed. Upon arrival, the room we were assigned turned out to be a smoking den. The smell of smoke could not harden. Other room was an attic nook with 2 single beds. Beds were in 2 corners of the room. The room was too small to put them side by side.
Although the daily cleaning was otherwise fine, the shower drain was not exactly clean. The water barely drained because of the amount of hair from our predecessors.
The breakfast was more than excellent.
Dinner was otherwise good but had to be paid for separately.
All in all, the value for money was not a recommendation.
Not really recommended unless you only go for the area. Nature is beautiful and it is a good hiking area.

5 nights with HP (voucher) with different services

We stayed with voucher for 5 nights with half board at Hotel Trout. Breakfast as well as dinner were very good. The Service went to great lengths to satisfy the many guests, which unfortunately did not always succeed (on the first day 45 minutes Waiting time for the soup).
The rooms were very clean and correspondingly large. Negatively, I had to note that free Wi-Fi (resin free radio) was not available in the room at any time, although this was agreed on the voucher as a service of the hotel. When I asked the head of the house, I was told that this was possible in the lobby. Of course, I couldn't be satisfied with this solution and inquired about affordable Wi-Fi. There it was explained to me that this should cost 2.00 € per day. However, the welcome info says 2,00 € per stay. In-house parking is to be provided acc. Info sheet 12.00 €/day. Free parking is possible in about 250 m direction Altenbrak, we then also used this parking lot.

Friendly hotel on the Bode with delicious food

We were here at the weekend to hike (Harzer hiking needle). For us a great starting point, the rooms were clean, the breakfast buffet very good and the dinner mega. Especially the trout dishes but also the game. We can definitely recommend the hotel.
