Good value for money right next to the banhof

For me this was a budget stay and as such it offered good value for money. The establishment seems to be run by an old lady and what seemed like here friends, might have visited off season. Breakfast was included and it felt big for the low room price. The hotel is right next to the railway station which would be considered as pretty much town center for this sleepy little nice southern German town. Stayed at this place while participating in the Red Bull 400 and if I go for that event next year I would choose this place once again.

Don't stay here

This is not a hotel and is run by a couple who appear to have other jobs. On arrival we and several other guests waited over an hour to be admitted despite the booking clearly stating they were open from 4pm. The room was very basic with 1970s yellow walls and lime green curtains and had a shower head that could not be adjusted meaning that the only way to get any water over us was to wedge ourselves into the corner of the cubicle. There was no restaurant but there did appear to be a bar. we asked for 2 glasses of wine which was charged to our room and on checking out we were shocked to discover that the bill said €16.10 and the lady on reception demanded €20 to cover the service as they did not usually serve drinks. There was also no internet. On reading many reviews going back to 2014 nothing appears to have changed. This is a very tired hotel in every respect!

Very Good Budget Hotel

This is a budget hotel with no frills.
The hotel is in a central safe location. The room was large and clean and was equipped with a kitchenette, minibar and free wifi.
Breakfast was self service cereal, fruit, yougart, cold meat, bread etc.
Quite good for the price.

Disappointed

Staff very good, easy to find, close to amenities. However room was big but the bed was only 200mm off the floor very difficult to get up and down. TV was the old 12" screen type place 2 mtrs up the wall. Bathroom fit out really needed some work new taps, power supply etc very basic.

Only really poor hotel experience in Germany

My wife and I were touring by car in mid December 2013. We booked this hotel based on their special offer with breakfast advertised though trip adviser and booked through bookings.com. On arrival at 2.30 pm we found the hotel locked up but check in was for 3pm so we left and returned at 3. It was still locked but a gentleman suddenly appeared and unlocked the door. On entry it was obvious that areas such as the dining room and bar were locked up. After scratching through a pile of papers our host located our booking. He demanded cash for payment up front and when a receipt was requested he gave me one written on a blank sheet of A4. He spoke no English which was fine but when I asked about fructstruc (breakfast he pointed me to the hotel across the road. I asked if he was paying he said no - no breakfact in the deal. Indeed there seemed to be no one to cook it or serve it.
The room was on the very top floor, large but in desperate need of refurbishment. I think men must have died of blood loss trying to shave under the appalling light in the bathroom. Still it was adequately warm. No WiFi .apparently either. We left early the next morning and bought breakfast later.
I did raise this matter with bookings.com who much to their credit followed up and called me to say the now owners (this less than a month later) claim they have no responsibility for the falsely advertised breakfast or that the claimed facilities at the hotel were closed. Although not requested Bookings.com refunded us 15 euro in compensation for the breakfast cost.
Lets hope there really are new owners and they can start providing the claimed services.
