A hotel with heart – for people and dogs alike
We spent four wonderful days at the Hotel Storchen on Lake Constance and can recommend this family-run hotel without reservation.
We felt warmly welcomed right from our arrival. We would particularly like to highlight the exceptional dog-friendliness. Our dog Mia was not just allowed, but a full-fledged guest. She was greeted with a lovingly put-together welcome package of treats and toys. We were also particularly impressed that a dog sitter was arranged for us in advance, so we could enjoy our private spa arrangement in a completely relaxed manner. Otherwise, Mia was allowed to move around freely with us almost everywhere – even in the restaurant. Only the spa area was excluded for understandable reasons.
The entire team was extremely friendly, warm, and helpful at all times. We have particularly fond memories of the very personable manager and the caretaker, who always took the time for a few pets with Mia. You can feel that hospitality is not just promised here, but lived.
Culinary-wise, no wishes were left unfulfilled either. Breakfast offered everything the heart desires, and egg dishes were freshly prepared upon request – a great service that we really appreciated.
Our room was spotlessly clean and the beds were just right – neither too soft nor too hard, so we slept excellently.
The lovingly landscaped garden invites you to relax with its many shaded seating options. Families also get their money's worth here: A playground, volleyball court, as well as foosball and billiards ensure varied leisure opportunities.
The location of the hotel is also ideal. Despite the central location and the nearby bus stop, it is pleasantly quiet – a perfect starting point for excursions around Lake Constance.
Another highlight was our private spa arrangement. The spa area is beautifully designed, very well-maintained, and offers the perfect atmosphere to leave everyday life behind for a while.

Hotel with potential up
We were traveling for a short trip by the lake and had booked this hotel due to the good recessions on other portals.
The rooms themselves were fine, except for a partially transparent glass door in front of the toilet. On the walkway to the room, the skirting boards were missing and from the ceiling hung an uninsulated cable for a lamp. The chocolate bars that were placed on the bed as a greeting had unfortunately expired in March. The wellness area, booked for private use, was not clean for our understanding (bedding varnishes in the relaxation area and whirlpool were clearly visible not clean), which you can expect at this price. When we pointed out the conditions in the wellness area, we were confronted with the statement that we should book an indoor spa in the future... Breakfast was standard program....Too bad we expected more.

Price performance does not fit
Location on Lake Constance and connection to public transport top, 2 minutes to the bus stop. Every 15 minutes there are buses to Überlingen or Friedrichshafen.
Ample parking available.
Very dog friendly. Fur noses are allowed to eat.
We had double rooms in the main house on the 1st floor. Stock. Room was clean and tidy. But the bathroom was MUCH too small. Only small children could sit normally in the toilet. You could not dry yourself in the bathroom, it had Max. 1.5 sqm area.
On the third day, a bad smell of brackish water came out of the bath. We then ran water everywhere for a few minutes.
Coffee machine in the room. But after a single use, capsules were no longer refilled.
Wellness area neglected. A sauna not in operation, jacuzzi not fully functional and cloudy water. Water carafe was not replenished, with tea there was no sugar from day 1, was also not replenished until day 5.
Area was not maintained, perhaps because of offseason?
Breakfast was basic. 2-3 kinds of baked bread rolls every day. Variation was then the offer of a few croissants or small cakes.
Egg dishes were individually freshened and brought to the table. One had the impression that the young service personnel (1, Only at WE 2 forces) were overwhelmed.
It took a long time and required enquiries to be replenished.
Dinner at the inn was very good with good Service.

Poor breakfast
We stayed at the hotel for breakfast today.
Unfortunately, the breakfast was very bad. The cold cuts and cheese were not refrigerated, they were simply on the table. We had ordered an omelette, it was served lovelessly. The rolls were cardboard. If they were from the bakery on site na......
All together a bad guide. It's a fitter's breakfast.

We were given a very friendly welcome, the service was top notch, the food was excellent.
All of the staff were very friendly and polite. We were very happy to be guests and maybe we'll see each other again soon.
