Home away from home

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel & Restaurant Elbschetal. We were originally booked here during my company’s International Sales Meeting, but my wife and I had actually already reserved extra days at the same hotel, completely by coincidence. After our experience, we were so glad we did.
Coming straight from the U.S., jet lagged and tired, the hospitality made an immediate impression. Simon personally greeted us upon arrival and kindly carried our luggage upstairs, which meant a lot after such a long journey with multiple connecting flights, a train ride, and then the drive from Düsseldorf. That level of care set the tone for our entire stay.
Everything about this place feels warm and welcoming, from the cozy and charming rooms to the relaxing atmosphere, and especially the genuine friendliness of Simon and his family. It truly felt like a home away from home.
The food was outstanding as well. Breakfast was excellent every morning, nice and quiet with peaceful music, and the location itself is incredibly picturesque. I have to call out the Elbschetal Special Schnitzel. It was hands down my favorite dish of the entire trip. Absolutely delicious. Even now, back in the States, I still find myself thinking about it.
If you are looking for a place with world class hospitality, great food, and a personal touch, I highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back, whether for business or a leisurely visit in the area again.

Egg n highlight on our bike tour

On our bike tour along the Ruhr we have stopped at the Hotel Elbschetal. Great personal service. We could store our bikes in a garage in the courtyard and charge them there (e-bikes). Although not explicitly reserved, we were offered a table in the restaurant. Great offer, it tasted great to us all. Also the breakfast, we were the only guests that morning, was excellent. The rooms have probably recently been individually renovated. I had a quite large room (102). Everything was clean and individually tailored. Thanks to an electric kettle in the room, even a quick morning cup of coffee/tea was no problem, for early risers a welcome service. I've seen the previous criticism. Internet was not relevant for me on a bike ride now, but what are you really talking about here? My cycling friends and I were some, the Hotel Elbschetal surprised us all positively and was a real highloght on our bike tour. We wish you continued success.

A grey

Internet connection (WLAN) a grey. Only minute by minute connection, no matter what floor. Parking also a minus.The rooms are from the 90 years.TV reception insufficient.The breakfast buffet for just under 25€ is a laughing stock, 2 cheeses ,some turkey breast cold cuts and salami.This has nothing to do with buffet.

Our new "local" restaurant in the Elbschetal Hotel.
Friendly staff and great service, generous portions of well-cooked food and a relaxed ambience.
Outdoor seating is available (but could be more comfortable).

Good value for money

Hotel located in a charming German village. Reservation made by telephone, pleasant welcome and attentive and helpful staff. The adjoining restaurant is very pleasantly decorated, the meal was very good (with fresh produce) and plentiful. Reasonable prices.
