Way too crowded and the restrooms could be significantly cleaner.
Quite expensive for what it is. We wanted to try out what camping is like and had rented a motorhome for it. Unfortunately, we cannot see the appeal of it, and certainly not least because of a place like this. I have more privacy in every rental apartment and more space in every allotment garden. Sanitary facilities are better in every airport lounge. I unfortunately cannot understand at all why someone would set up a tent, go through the trouble of making coffee or tea, only to sit surrounded by other tents in front of that very one, eat a cookie, and read a 1000-page book - if someone finds that great, go ahead. I can certainly do that for free at home, though.

catastrophic service quality...
I arrived with my small tent without a reservation. That is explicitly allowed and is great! When I wanted to check in the next day, I was lectured at the reception that I had to book online. If she, the woman at the reception, did it, it would cost €20. You have me in the computer, I said. I come every year. We have a new program, was the answer. I was speechless, stunned, angry... and you can tell that by my voice then too. I was sitting outside in front of the office typing in my data when the boss came: You became loud and abusive here? Uh, no. He was of the opinion that these great employees were not there to type, they did it qualitatively... I replied that they were just eliminating their own jobs.
In the afternoon, I then picked up my tent number and guest card and looked online for the reservation number.... The employee (an older gentleman) at the reception desk only wanted my last name. He found me in the system and said that I had already been there a few times....
So the employee and the boss had lied in the morning, quite apart from the outrageous service.
Most of the employees there are great people, by the way; their work shirts say "We for you." I suggest a shirt with "Not me" for the woman at the reception and one with "Me for me" for the boss.

There is clearly room for improvement in hospitality and price fairness.
The Dune Camping Amrum is a beautifully located campsite with modern facilities and plenty of tranquility. At the same time, we had the impression that the pricing and service culture did not quite match the high standards of the site. Overall, a lovely place to unwind – with room for improvement in hospitality and price fairness.
What we really liked
• Wi-Fi coverage — surprisingly stable and widespread
• Nice pitches — spacious, well-maintained, some beautifully located in the dunes
• Modern sanitary facilities — clean, new, well thought out
• Laundry room — high-quality machines (value for money to be assessed individually)
• Many disposal options — practical and well distributed
• Level parking spaces for RVs — comfortable for larger vehicles
• Quiet location — perfect for relaxing
• Good kitchen — top-notch in taste, cocktails very delicious
• Bicycle-friendly — many parking options, service station, rental bikes
• Dog shower — very practical for dog owners
What we believe should be improved
• Overall price level is very high – even for Swiss standards
• Early check-in €15 for arrival before 2:30 PM
• Late check-out €20 for departure after 10 AM
• Restaurant prices significantly above average
• Service quality in the restaurant is rather unprofessional and unfriendly.
• Pizza prices, e.g., Margherita $13.50, toppings quickly add $15.
• QR ordering system outside is only digital, no cash payment, self-service character at restaurant prices.
• Tipping policy only starts at 15% – not very customer-friendly.
• Island shop does not have large water bottles, dogs are not allowed inside.
• Bakery prices: rolls up to $1.50, croissant $2.50, jam $1.
• Roll bags cost 10 cents each.
• Freshness quality on Monday: dry rolls from the day before at full price.
• Digital check-in/out feels rather impersonal.
• Employee friendliness is often distant rather than warm.
Our overall impression.
Dune Camping Amrum is a beautiful, modern, and quiet campsite in the midst of the dunes – ideal for relaxing and enjoying nature. The infrastructure is really strong, especially the sanitary facilities, parking spaces, and location.
However, we felt that many small things are additionally priced, which unnecessarily increases the cost of the stay and is not always proportional to the service provided. The service culture also seems to have room for improvement in several areas – especially on an island known for its hospitality.
With a bit more warmth, transparency, and fair pricing, this place could become a true top spot.

Underground, Arrogant and Insolent, NEVER AGAIN !!! An imposition
My mistake was that I read the reviews too late. You stand on a
Sandy area next to a noisy parking lot. To make matters worse, soaked and painted demolition wood was constantly burned from the parking lot. So much for fresh sea air and climate protection. When asked, the boss reacted extremely arrogantly and stupidly. Sunday's coronation... was broken off with an excavator and rubble was driven off with tractors all day. Rarely recovered like that.
The place offers nothing but electricity. The prices of the place are totally excessive.
Nobody sees me in this dump again.

NEVER AGAIN!!!
Booked an idyllic parking space in the dunes, recommended by the campsite, - we got a supermarket parking lot with 120 parked cars and that for almost 90 euros a night ... it couldn't get more outrageous. Approached & preferably driven away again directly, there is no apology for this unpleasant situation, there is a threat that if we do not pay, a collection agency will be assigned... instead of deciding by mutual agreement and for the guest and releasing the booking - is attempted to intimidate ... if it were not so bad ... so disproportionately bad ...
Since we have no money to give away, after discussion another pitch was provided, after the disappointment no alternative, but we stayed ...
Worse & condescending we have never been treated. For us, clearly the very last and poor service to the guest.
