Core refurbished and refurbished therefore highly recommended
Very nice newly renovated and newly furnished rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. The best hotel in Worms and surroundings so far. Highly recommended after complete renovation. Nothing more recognisable from the old one, as was completely renovated and refurbished.

Don't have to have a second time
Here I wanted to get an idea of the hotel myself, as the reviews are very different.
When Booking Referral I was told that new furniture is expected for the newly renovated rooms. I then asked that we get two renovated rooms because I didn't feel like cold smoke and musty rooms.
Already on arrival we were terrified by what a dilapidated shack it is. The landlady who came on call then to the hotel was very friendly but explained to us that we can't get renovated rooms... The electrician would have allegedly transferred her several times.
But we also couldn't get breakfast because she had to take care of her children - unless we would wait until 9am to have breakfast. But she could name us 5 restaurants / cafes where we could have breakfast - you might now think that this happens more often and in the dark restaurant never any food is served. Even the website reports an error when you want to look at the menu.
The room rate was of course demanded here immediately upon arrival (not only after service provided) - in my view a NoGo. You kind of buy the cat in the bag without having seen the rooms.
The rooms themselves were superficially clean, but I don't want to know how long the carpet has been lying and how many bare feet he's seen.
The bed (and also the toilet) were so low that with knee problems you really had trouble getting back up. I don't want to talk about the drill holes, broken brackets and hooks at first - after all, the rooms were not renovated. The toilet door in the double room could only be opened a gap wide, so you had problems there.
The provided parking was very pleasant, as there were hardly any parking spaces in a central city location. In the vicinity only with parking meter - maximum parking time 1 hour... However, the 6 parking spaces the hotel has were then divided so that you always had to arrange how to drive in or out, as the middle cars were always parked.
It remains to be said that it is also not far away with the Wi-Fi, as it is an unsecured, public network - with the laptop no access was possible...

Avoid at all costs
I arrive just after 10pm to find the entrance door locked, lights out, no sign of life. Rang the hotel to be told "No check-in after 10pm. we will no help you in any way. Your problem, not our". Disgraceful attitude.

And I was lucky...
When you enter this hotel it smells like a smokers booth, because everybody at the counter smokes. This room is also the Restaurant where breakfast is served.
I was lucky with my room because it was a former private room. It was big, seemed clean and had a balcony. But it smelled very bad because it's a smokers room and as mentioned before the whole Hotel smells like ashtray. Therefore I didn't want to try the breakfast and left without.
The other rooms though where a catastrophy, mould in the shower, dirty sheets yellow curtains and the hygiene was overall questionable.
The people working there where nice though.
I will never go back to this Hotel.

Could do with a good clean
Spent a weekend here during the Euro 2012. The hotel was ok and very centrally located so a short walk to everywhere you may want to visit in Worms. The first thing that struck me was that this place doesn't have a proper entrance as one would expect of a hotel. I never managed to find a reception desk, or anything closely resembling one. You could enter via the backdoor or via a smoke-filled restaurant (these still seem to exist in Germany for some odd reason).
The cleaning of the bedrooms was poor - when we arrived in our room the carpet hadn't been vacuumed (for quite some time) and wasn't cleaned during our stay. I was glad to have sandals that I could wear when walking around the room. I found this aspect really disgusting as a quick hoover across the carpet would remove all the surface dirt that was sticking to my feet as I walked on it. Towels weren't changed in the bathroom during our stay and neither was the bath mat. The bathroom was very tiny, and for some reason the toilet brush was placed in such a way that you ended up staring right at it when using the toilet. I found this a bit strange as I'd try to keep a toilet brush out of sight and certainly not near my face! Bed sheets had a few small holes in them. There is no hairdryer in the room. Free wifi, however, allows me to write this review!
The room has no airconditioning. The weather was not particularly warm while I was there, but the room was hot and stuffy. Leaving windows open during the night wasn't really an option due to street noise and noise on balconies from neighbouring apartments. Since it was Euro 2012 time this may have been exceptionally bad.
Breakfast was reasonably good for the establishment, with enough choice of cold food items for a basic hotel. There were 8 of us so we had 3 rooms: 2 doubles and one family room.
If you have a car there is VERY limited parking at the hotel, or pay parking on the street.
