Real hostel feel right at the foot of mount Ulriken

Traveled solo for first time in Bergen Norway for 4 days and this Hostel was exactly what I was looking for. Everything worked, the hostel had huge communal kitchen, breakfast selection was not wide but had everything that was needed, people were happy. The bunk beds in the dormitory were super creaky but a good sleep in a dormitory requires a heavy sleeper anyways.
The Hostel has view to Bergens highest mountain right at the entry, and you just need to cross the road to start the climb. Surrounding area in general is very scenic. Recommended for everyone that knows what they are getting into when sleeping at a hostel and I will go here again since I left 4 mountains unclimbed for next Bergen visit.

Lovely stay at Bergen Hostel Montana.

There’s a good reason why I chose to stay at Bergen Hostel Montana for the second time - and I will surely come again next time I’m in Bergen. The hostel has a diverse community and it has its own identity. The staff are amazing, and can’t thank them enough for their help and good service. Breakfast included is quite good and rather varied with something for everyone, although I personally would love to see warm dishes like back in 2023. As for the location, it’s on top of a hill with a fabulous view of Bergen - the view during breakfast is something that will stick in my mind for long. Bus 12 will get very close to the hostel, and it’s very regular - so nothing to worry about in terms of transportation.

Highly Recommend

Thoroughly enjoyable and welcoming. Easy access to the bus. The views are amazing, and there is space to socialize or quietly read. Breakfast was great, and the staff was very helpful.

Perfect for us as a family!

We had a great stay at the youth hostel. Great location for hiking to the top of Mount Ulriken in an hour from there, to enjoy the wonderful view...
But the view of Bergen from the youth hostel itself is also very beautiful.
Our room was perfect for us, with a shower/WC, the breakfast was good, and we used the foosball table in the lounge.
You could prepare meals and wash dishes in the communal kitchen.
All the staff were very friendly; all in all, absolutely recommended!

Perfect accommodation

Perfect location up on a slope, close to walk to Ulriken alt walk to Cab banana. Many guests of different ages and from all corners of the world which made the stay even more pleasant and relaxed. The building is not a pretty sight but had chosen this over the hotel in the center all days!
