Best place to stay in Bergen

Excellent hotel. Great room we had 2 bed and 2 bath corner suite for 4 very spacious, nice bathrooms. Truly Excellent breakfast. Izakaya and omakase excellent for dinner. Friendly staff. Great location. We stay at really nice places (four seasons etc) and this was a great experience. Just know Norway (all hotels) there is no porter service in the country so at any hotel you handle your own luggage.

New Hotel With Issues

Stayed here for a couple of nights prior to taking a Viking Cruise (the cruise line put us up here). The location is excellent - a few streets from the waterfront area with plenty of restaurants in the immediate area. The hotel is fairly new. While I love Scandinavian design, I felt our hotel room was a bit too sterile. There was very little storage area and the small bathroom didn’t even have shelving to place items. Room lighting is very minimal. We did have trouble with the individual temperature control and woke up sweating on several occasions. Note the fact our room did not have separate beds. It was classified as two twin beds, but they are attached to each other. While I appreciate this could be a cultural issue, it may prove problematic for those travelers who are not couples or do not wish to share a bed. The buffet breakfast was very good with many hot and cold options. Staff was friendly and helpful.

A terrible experience

The room was facing a wall. The service was terrible. The bathroom was tiny.
I left my wallet with $1000. When I tried to retrieve it they said they didn’t have it.

Great Location, Breakfast, and Room

Enjoyed this hotel. The location is super convenient to everything and very walkable to main points of interests and restaurants. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant had an amazing breakfast spread with hot foods, crispy bacon, fresh fruit, pastries, freshly baked bread loaves, fish, chia seed puddings, yogurt, jams, granola, oatmeal, omelets, juices. The gym was a little small and warm but had all the essentials. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is a great choice to stay when exploring Bergen. Breakfast is fantastic and gym is well equipped. Spa is nice.
A few areas to improve on; water temperature in shower frequently changes from cold to hot. We were given an accessible room when we asked for a standard room. This meant the bathroom wasn’t particularly practical for us.
