Charming

Old hotel but very well kept, good service, quiet and well located, has elevator that is important since some do not have it, recommended

This is a charming family run hotel. My biggest complaint is that the Internet was poor at best. It seemed like they tried to save money and strange places like not refilling this soap in the shower. The shower took a long time to get hot water. Maybe being on the top floor limited These things. The restaurant only had one course each night and if you didn’t like it, you were out of luck. It has a lot of potential but miss the Mark. It almost will be better. Run as a B&B. If you need it for location, this is a fine place to stay, which is why we were here.

Great service

Great location, incredibly good service, cosy rooms. Inside it was very homely and nostalgic. The food was heavenly and affordable. We traveled with the choir. Highly recommended. Here are great hiking areas.

Ageing

As the other reviewers wrote: Ageing. The furniture in my room was very ceded. The decor of the room was coordinated. At first glance the room was clean, unfortunately on the last day something rolled under my bed and there were some paper towels. The terrace was freshened up and the garden well maintained. A found object from the closet (from the previous guest of the room?) was not put away by the room service, although I had put a note with this request next to it (in English and with online translation program in Norwegian). When I brought it to reception, the junior boss immediately apologized for the circumstances. In the bathroom were a few stick stains, which are probably structural and cannot be avoided.
Breakfast was very "British" supplemented by fish in sweet and sour and sweet mustard sauce. Packed lunches were available for NOK 70. Dinner was youth hostel-like: There was meat and sauce, both fine. The potatoes were cheaply bought (partly sweet or brown inside), but mostly also fine. The completely unseasoned frozen vegetables were half-raw on the first day and partly raw and lukewarm on the second. The soup was out of the bag, but efforts had been made to round it off a bit. Dessert was a pudding with spray cream. On the last day we actually had delicious food: Salmon, rice, salad and mustard sauce.
The very young employees were very friendly, the junior boss too. The senior manager alone always drew a grouchy face and did not seem to speak very kindly to the employees.
Great is the lake near the hotel: In a few minutes you are here on a small beach and can swim in summer. Also the savings right in front of the hotel is pleasant.
