Great hotel, very central. Quiet and good breakfast options. Stayed here a couple of times now when in the area and very much recommend.

Good hotel for a one/two night stop

This hotel is similar in standard to an older premier inn in uk. It is great for a one/two night stop when travelling. The room we had was a good size and overlooked the sea. The furniture although worn in places was still acceptable. The bathroom needed a revamp. The bath had old fashioned tiles and a shower curtain. Something that I had not seen in years. Breakfast was average with a reasonable choice of food.

Really really bad hotel

The rooms smell bad. The bathrooms are i poor condition. The hotel allows smoking at the entrance where there is "no smoking" signs posted.

Seek alternative accommodation.

A very very tired hotel, verging on the shabbiest hotel I have stayed in. I would seek alternative accommodation on a future trip to Kristiansund.

Very nice staff, very good breakfast, but the hotel needs an update

The Scandic Kristiansund hotel is located quite close to the city center and to one of the departure points for the ferry that connects the city's various islands.
The path from the parking garage to the hotel is difficult with suitcases, as there is no direct elevator and only stairs are available. So you should drive to the reception first, unload, and then park. You have to pay in the parking garage, currently (July 2026) 120 NOK. To pay, there is one on the 2nd. floor in the parking garage, a small orange machine.
The reception at the hotel was very friendly and check-in was efficient and fast. The hotel staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The hotel, however, would need a general overhaul. Much is no longer in good condition. The room was good and spacious, however, in the bathroom, the faucet was loose and the toilet flush did not work very well. There is no safe in the hotel room, just as there is no bar in this hotel. However, you can get various drinks at the reception.
The breakfast buffet was extraordinarily good and offered a very good selection.
Checking out was again very efficient and fast.
In short; very nice staff and a very good breakfast in a hotel that has seen its best days in terms of current equipment.
