Nice friendly place.

Nice old house by the fjord. Beautiful views. Friendly people, low prices. The owner organizes also tours to the Svartisen glacier (Meloy Adventure). The trip was excellent and the guide very kind and helpful. He loaned hiking boots for kids.

When we went to check in, I found bed bugs crawling under the mattress in the bedroom. Really gross. Although we did not sleep in the room, the accommodation refused to refund the cost. Whatever you do, don't live here. Except for bed bugs, the pictures don't correspond to reality. This place hasn't been renovated since the '70s.

Stay at nice Gulbrakka

Pleasant stay for a reasonable money on cozy Gulbrakka. Nice rooms with toilet in the hallway, newly renovated bathroom with two showers down, laundry facilities and sauna. Shared kitchen and living room, neat and clean. Nice staff with gentle Tiril who welcomed us when we arrived.

The best place to sleep in the area with a great owner

We booked this Gulbrakka Basecamp hotel through Airbnb at the time and this is really a fantastic place. Unfortunately, we were not able to meet the owner because we were delayed in driving to this location.
The place is fantastically maintained and has everything you need. There was a French couple staying here at the time as well, and the owner of this Airbnb had announced our arrival to them, after which the French here showed us the way. This made us feel good in any way. He also showed me another hike in the area, which we actually did the day after.
The kitchen had all the tools you needed, and even more than that. The living room was spacious and had plenty of options for sitting. It also had a view of the Glomfjord itself. It was a perfect choice to sleep here. The bedroom was large enough and had beds, and a storage area. Also, here the view was fine. I unfortunately did not use the sauna, but I did use the recently renovated bathroom. This was very large and comfortable, and had everything you needed as a guest.
It was really a fantastic experience to sleep here, I am still talking with friends and family about my good experience here. I can't wait to come back someday and meet the owner as well.

Best place ever !

The basecamp is cosy and has everything that you need. Moreover the owner is super nice, helpful and has a lot of good tips for trips and views in the area. I would have definitely regretted not going on the trip he suggested by boat, it was one of the best days, maybe even the best day I had in Norway so far. He was very considerate and nice to my dog, especially during the boat cruise, which was a HUGE plus.
Do yourself the favour and stay here while you’re in the area. You won’t regret any moment.
