great location
room was nice and spacious
front desk staff absolutely amazing. especially, the lady who also makes drinks.
one small shortcoming, you have to follow up on room cleaning.

Front door to room does not automaticly lock when you leave the room and close the door ? You have to hold your keycard to the cardreader when leaving the room for it to lock, This is different from all other hotels in the world and I did not know (staff don't tell you), so I basicly left my room open while being out during the day - with laptop, passport etc. free for anyone to take.
Another thing is that the iron at the room is basicly useless, It is a cheap plastic iron that does not get very warm - so it is impossible to iron a shirt.
With this said the hotel is fine, breakfast is good, location is good and staff is helpful.

Average
No slippers, and when I asked at the reception, they looked at me as if I had asked for a goldfish. No safe, no complimentary water, small and super basic room with a "view" of the breakfast room, and even the bath mat was missing. I'll save the very central location and the breakfast, which was really not bad. A nice, well-deserved three... and I'm even feeling generous.

no room service, wrong breakfast info at reception
We were familiar with the Scandic in Brussels, where we’d stayed before, and everything had been fine. At the one in Oslo, we were greeted rather curtly at reception by a small blond hair young man. I asked him the time limit for breakfast, and he replied that it was from 6.30 am to 10.30 am. The next day, we arrived at around 9.35 am for breakfast and were told it was only until 9.30 am! Fortunately, a very kind Asian lady understood the situation and brought out several choices of food for us – well done and a big thank to her, who was fantastic at every breakfast (which we then had at around 9 am)! The big disappointment was the complete lack of room service… Four days and three nights, the room was never cleaned or done. My wife had to straighten the duvets herself, etc. So there was no replacement of the dirty and wet towels – we had to help ourselves to take clean ones from a trolley at the end of a corridor…
No TV channels other than Norwegian ones; in a capital city, you’d at least expect an international selection or, at least CNN…
Otherwise, the rooms are correct, the breakfast is very good and varied, and the young women at reception are friendly. The only downsides, were the young man at reception (first day) who also gave us the wrong breakfast times—and the complete lack of room service… It’s a shame because everything else was very good, and a thousand thanks to the Asian lady at breakfast who was so cheerful, helpful and kind.

A really good hotel centrally located in Oslo
We had a room facing the glazed courtyard, where breakfast was served. It was a cool and comfortable room, but did not give much of a view.
The room was spacious and clean, the beds comfortable and the bathroom really good.
The staff at the front desk were not very accommodating.
We put the car in a parking garage under the hotel. You pay in a machine at the reception when you are going on.
The breakfast included everything you could wish for and a for me new but very good porridge - barley porridge.
The hotel is centrally located in the city close to Akers jetty with The Salmon where you can get good salmon and also learn more about the Norwegian salmon. It is also close to the train station, the Munch Museum and the Opera and of course Karl Johan who is just around the corner.
We can also recommend restaurant Egon located at Karl Johan very close to the hotel.
