Fine Hotel in the vicinity of the Royal Castle

We went to visit Oslo by ship and made the reservation via ColorLine - a good decision!
Very close to the Castle and public services - buses ran directly opposite to the Hotel!

I travelled to Norway for leisure, as every year in beginning of August. This is my second time in THON HOTEL EUROPA and experience for this year is even better than last year.

Flawless Stay in Oslo – Outstanding Food and Warm Hospitality!

​Thon Hotel Europa was the perfect place to end our trip. It is an exceptionally well-run property where everything came together effortlessly to deliver a comfortable and memorable stay.
​The Highlights:
​Spacious Rooms & Great Views: Our room was wonderfully spacious and overlooked a peaceful park right in front of the hotel. Even though we were positioned near the elevator, the room was quiet and comfortable.
​Exceptional Dining: The breakfast spread was so delicious and varied that it set the bar for our entire trip. In fact, we enjoyed the food so much that we chose to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant every single evening!
​Thoughtful Extras & Service: The staff were genuinely friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. Having free coffee and tea available in the reception area was a fantastic, cozy touch.
​Verdict:
With zero complaints, excellent dining, and top-tier service, Thon Hotel Europa is a gem. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Overall the stay was great. The location and breakfast were great, staff was friendly. Upon arrival we noticed that the room could have done with more thorough cleaning (dust on furnitures / side tables, debris on the floor, water still in the kettle from previous guests). There was also a tile missing off the bathroom wall.
The elevator and the carpet in the common areas including bedroom corridors could also do with a better cleaning...
