We stayed at the Grand Fjord hotel which is a couple steps up the hill and rent our kayak here. The staff were very friendly and patient with their safety instruction and even showed us a few hiking trails. My girlfriend accidentally dropped her cell phone in the fjord when boarding but they kept searching until finally fishing it out a couple days later! Stephanie went extra miles by helping arrange a FedEx shipment to our home in Hong Kong.

Perfect campsite.

Two families with 11 people including 6 children use this nice campsite. Just right on the water and canoe rental next door. Very friendly staff. Nice kitchen and shower facilities. Highly recommended. A privilege to be able to camp here. Will be back soon.

Beautiful view over the fjord.

A couple minutes from the small town Geiranger you can find this campground. The view over the fjord is great and you can see the village, waterfalls and the incoming cruiseships. The facilities are clean, you can empty the cassette toilet, but I could not find a dumping point for the gray water. A spot on the waterside is €7 extra, but well worth the money. My advice: chose this campground instead of the one in the village.

Wonderful views. Positive service attitude. Small Accommodations.

A night stay in the Grande Hytteutleige og Camping represented a very interesting experience. The views perceived when arriving are simply wonderful. We were two 60+ age couples with luggage for a more than a three-week vacation so the accommodation spaces were extremely restricted for a comfortable usage. The low season travel complicated the available options, even for having breakfast, but we were able to enjoy our stay. The service attitude and the rented boat for exploring the fiord represented the great base for this part of our trip.

Awesome View

Lovely cabin just outside of the town right on the fjord and at the base of the hairpin road up the mountain that becomes the scenic Eagle Road. Nice hiking up on top. Boats and kayaks to rent. Close enough to town to enjoy nice hikes around the fjord and on the waterfall walkway near the excellent museum. Also highly encourage driving up to the farm and hiking up to the waterfall where you can walk behind if you are brave enough!
