Nice quiet hotel on the fjord towards Loen!

This is a nice, quiet hotel on the road to Loen. Good breakfast. Clean. Good bed. Wonderful fjord views, especially from the breakfast room. We had a Mountain view from our rooms. Nice staff. Pleasant grounds to walk around. Reasonable price for the area. We booked through Hotels.com. Plenty of parking. I would stay here again the next time we are in the Loen area.

Used as a base for Geiranger sightseeing

From Bergen, he rented a car and used it to travel to Geiranger Sightseeing. It is located about an hour before Geiranger from Bergen. The hotel is an old, small hotel. There is a supermarket in the area, but we struggled with dinner because there were few restaurants and it was early to close, we didn’t use the hotel’s restaurant because it was open until 8pm only for buffets… Groups were eating from 8pm.

Stay Someplace Else

Small hotel in small town. They have the only restaurant in town for dinner. It is a buffet with only moderately warm food. The breakfast buffet (which is included, dinner is not) was the worst we have had in all of our Norwegian/European hotels. The choices appeared to be the leftovers from the evening before, and it was as if they came out of the refrigerator an hour earlier and had just gotten to room temperature. In terms of selection, it is not justifiable that the ONLY warm buffet options were LUKEWARM FRANKS and BEANS. There are no eggs (except hard boiled), no pancakes, bacon, or salmon. Toast and butter/jam is NOT EVEN AN OPTION because there is NO TOASTER! The TV has only 2 channels (yes, really only 2!). The bed is uncomfortable (2 twin box springs and mattresses pushed together, instead of the usual queen mattress on twin box springs). The couch in the room was thread-bare, with the foam cushioning material pushing through. Definitely NOT a place to recommend. The ONLY positive is that all the employees, the few that there are, are very friendly.

Priceless view

Directly on the fjord, it has a small beach and a pier. The hotel is in need of renovation as it is old-fashioned in its furnishings and services, especially the bathrooms. It 'still clean and we enjoyed a good dinner but a breakfast unfortunately to review with mostly' salty foods. The rooms are large and have balconies from which you can enjoy a view that pays off the negatives. It is advisable to ask for rooms with a view, the staff is available on request. The village is delightful!
