Great stay, recommended

Great hotel, good food and drinks served by friendly service. Overall, nice atmosphere. Beautiful nature that we were able to experience in wonderful spring weather with sun. While some took advantage of bathing in the sea and sauna, others were hiking to the top of Hillesøy within walking distance of the hotel. Rypa knocked out the window of the room, while the eagle flew in fine drive. Thank you for us, we will be happy to come back.

Arctic Adventure- Super Fantastic Staff- Attentive & personable & NICE! Comfortable -Gleaming Hotel -All you need & more to enjoy this off the beaten path experience- Lots to explore for hikers, nature lovers and any photo makes you look like a pro!! Great food & drinks- local fare + comfort food! Hot tubs & saunas a plus. Nice beds, pillows, hot shower!

Great hotel in a sensational location.

Stunning.
First off, the location. It is stunning enough without the aurora but crikey, when the sun goes down you are in for a treat. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Free tea and coffee at the bar is a nice touch. Prices of food and drink are in keeping with the rest of Norway, but good quality food.
We were a group of 8 (one child). We booked a sea house and a 2 bed apartment and had plenty of room. The sea house was incredible. Well equipped kitchen. Main bedroom was stunning with an idyllic view.
We also booked a hot tub. It was nice but when its -15 outside it doesn't stay hot for long. You'll do well to get 2 hours out of it. The sauna was lovely (and free). And the sea was perfect for a brisk dip.

This is my second stay at this hotel in Sommarøy. The first one was off season and I had a great experience back then. This time I took my wife with me hoping to be the same, but it wasn’t. As soon as we arrived, one guy in the reception was super rude with us. Other people in the staff were also very rude. It seemed to us that the staff is overworked, or stressed, some not helpful at all, like if they hated their job. Only few exceptions occurred, always the same few people in the staff that were really kind.
Apart from the above, the food wasn’t also great. The breakfast buffet is boring and does not change from day to day. There are a few options for dinner, expensive and not great in taste (but the burger, the burger is good). The rooms are also below the quality expected for the price, and the blackout curtains do not block entirely the light. Our room was so bright that we could not sleep well.
All in all, our experience was bad, and it’s a shame. If I come back would be to the apartments or cabins and bring my own food. I don’t come back to the hotel rooms.
