The owner/manager was very helpful. The location was great- we could walk to town for restaurants, groceries etc. The room had everything we needed

Our room was very dirty. There was a brown puddle of pee and scum built up on floor and wall around the back of the toilet. The shower was filthy and there was a sticky spill on the kitchen floor. We immediately went to pak n save and bought cleaning products and completely cleaned the bathroom and kitchen. We will never stay here again.

Property basic. Clean linen, comfy bed and pillows. Even though the unit was on a main road you couldn't hear the traffic. Great you could park right outside. Only 1 teatowel and dish washing detergent was watery. Only 1 flannel between 4 people. The unit was very clean.

Best hope your plans don't change

tl;dr Make sure your plans are rock solid because there’s absolutely no empathy or honesty if things change
I was supposed to be staying at Parkview this week. Through a series of unfortunate events, I’ll not even be making it to New Zealand, much less Pukekohe. As soon as this became apparent to me, I sent them an email and asked a friend of mine in the country to call. She spoke to the owner, Erica, who said that if I had booked with them directly, she would have given me a refund but because I booked through my credit card travel portal, she couldn’t. I inferred from this that the issue was with my credit card so, I called. They assured me that there was no issue on their side and they would be happy to issue a refund if the property agreed. They called and spoke to Erica who directly contradicted her earlier assurances and said that she would never authorize a refund. And look, I get it, there’s a policy and my request for a cancellation falls outside of the acceptable window. What I find repugnant is the duplicity. If the answer from the beginning had been, we have to follow the policy, then I would not be writing this review. My only advice for you is if you plan to stay here, adhere completely to the cancellation policy because they truly will not care in the least what your situation may be should your plans change.

The property is showing its age and needs upgrading.
Some wall fittings - light switches, towel holders etc were loose and poorly fitted.
No smoke alarms! Tatty curtains. Large hole in bed sheet.
Room was quite well equipped but aircon needs thorough clean internally.
Location is handy to shops and fuel. Paknsave across the road.
