Best accommodation during our 6 weeks trip.

Riverside Homestead offers stunning views over a river and valley. The room is spacious and fully equipped. Breakfast is made with sustainable ingredients. Chris and Michael are very warm and helpful hosts . Highly recommended .

A Home away from Home

Superb stay. Perfect for exploring the beautiful Bay of Islands. If you are looking for a home away from home , this is it. Warm, cozy and private.
Chris and Michael went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensure we had all we needed to enjoy our experience. A perfect balance between attentive hosting and respectful privacy.
Highly recommend and most certainly would come back for more.

Very very highly recommended

We would totally recommend the Homestead. It is a perfect base to explore the bay of Islands and beyond.
Michael and Chris were fantastic hosts and made us feel extremely welcome. One night Michael cooked a superb meal for us one night with a superb selection of wines and each morning we had an excellent breakfast on the veranda overlooking the superb gardens including home baked bread and croissants.
The room was extremely comfortable with big bed and bathroom.
The house is decorated to extremely good taste with superb views of garden and river below.

What delightful guests you were! Thank-you also for the chance to meet Sue (I hope the Orchard Road cocktail using Dr Beak batch distilled gin was to her liking!) it would be our pleasure to look after any family or friends with a special direct-booked rate, and, of course, it would be a pleasure to look after you all again.

The most peaceful and luxurious New Year ever

Our family stayed four nights at Riverside Homestead over the New Year period.
Chris and Michael were the perfect hosts, and we used their beautiful property as a base to explore the Bay of Islands, Cape Reinga, and surrounds.
Breakfasts were superb and of generous proportions, and Michael prepared for us a delicious platter of New Zealand delicacies for our NYE night in.
The rooms are very comfortable. The location is peacefully quiet, and the views are spectacular.
We particularly appreciated the advice provided on beaches and local restaurants, and if you enjoy a glass of wine, Michael has everything you need at hand!
Thoroughly recommended for couples and older children family groups.
