Surprisingly clean and tidy

After reading some of the reviews on here I was very worried about the general cleanliness of the room but was very surprised to find our room very clean, tidy and suitable for what we needed. We stayed in room 9 which had a double bed and a single bed, the room itself wasn't huge but was comfortable and the bathroom was clean too with suitable amenities. Looking at some of the photo's posted with other reviews it seems I got a much better deal than others as my room was more modern and certainly much cleaner.

It’s cheap, but for a little more money you can do much better

My room at the 747 motel was basically a seven foot square shack plus a small shower room. Whilst it had all you need, it was very basic and felt quite run down. You really wouldn’t want to spend more than one night here.
It was pretty cheap, but I think you’d be better off paying a little bit more and staying somewhere much more comfortable.

very unpleasant stay

only good thing about this motel was its location directly across from Kilbirnie Pool. I had random people knocking on the door looking for someone else, including in the middle of the night so did not feel safe. The room smelt, bathroom was mouldy, sliding door to bathroom was fitted badly and kept hitting the cupboard. taps were not secured to the benchtops and moved around a lot when turning them on. Bed was uncomfortable, tv didnt work properly, no batteries in the remote even. avoid this motel it is terrible. if you have to stay her get an upstairs unit so hopefully you wont have someone banging on your door in the middle of the night

Seriously Awful

If this isn't the worst motel in Wellington I don't know what is. Room is very small and poky. While the bed linen appeared clean, the rest of the room was grubby and tired. Shower was full of black mould. Bathroom mirror was placed above a shelf which, unless you were 6ft tall, was totally useless. The front door opens outwards, just as well really as if it opened inwards you wouldn't have anywhere to put your suitcase. It also had the additional feature of a cat flap. Go figure. They say you get what you pay for but even this was overpriced for what it was.

Sad embarrassing place to stay.

Rooms are dirty and owners disorganized.
They dont make beds. Told "they dont do beds."
There are no smoke alarms in the room.
Rooms are small.
Kitchen dirty.
Had gear dropped off there and they firstly said they didnt know anything about it until I phoned to check and went back ti challenge them.
We had people from Australia with us who were horrified, very embarrassing for us.
Could not get the supposed free wi fi to work
