Ideal overnight stop in Martinborough

A lovely bnb in a beautiful garden setting. We had a a take away dinner from the local Chinese with some excellent local wine. We ate under the umbrella on the deck and decided it was better than going out to a restaurant. In the morning we rode the bikes into town for our morning coffee. A wonderful stop over in Martinborough

Great stay at Swan House

The Swan House is a phenomenal BnB in Martinborough. The hosts are extremely helpful and accommodating. Me and my friend stayed for a night and were able to use the BnBs bikes to explore all that Martinborough had to offer. The room was extremely comfortable and came with a nice continental breakfast. Could not recommend this stay more!

Perfect

I echo the comments made by the previous reviewer. A lovely place, gorgeous garden and a prefect room with all amenities you could want. Even breakfast was provided in the room which could be taken to the lovely deck in font of the room.
Will hopefully be back and will stay here, it's perfect..

Meeting in Martinborough

This is a gorgeous boutique B&B. The unit is self contained with a bistro table and chairs for breakfast, comfortable lounge furniture and an excellent bed with lovely linen. The wall art was interesting, lovely large colourful modern pieces of work.
In the fridge were bottles of water, some snacks and the breakfast items which comprised packaged fruit salad, some cereals, milk and two small cartons of yoghurt. Not my ideal breakfast but … Tea and coffee were also provided. On the small coffee table was a jar of sweeties (lollies), hard to resist that’s for sure.
The bathroom was well appointed, a walk-in shower with all shower and hair products provided including some other personal products in the vanity unit drawer.
It was a large room, in fact the larger of the two units both of which faced a reasonably sized decked seating area and the small garden.
Martinborough is gorgeous, only an hour ish from Wellington. It’s a small town with an interestingly laid out centre, I’m told in the pattern of the Union Jack! It’s in a wine region, aren’t all the interesting places, and seems to be unaffected by high modern developments therefore retaining its old traditional charm. So, all in all, it was a great visit, I wished we had been able to stay longer..

Thank you for your generous response. We very much appreciate this as we have just taken over running Swan house so we are very open to feedback. If there is something else we can do to add to our continental breakfast options please let us know. We agree that Martinborough is gorgeous and we came for a holiday in August 2022 and we didn't want to leave so put in an offer. We now get to enjoy and share this wonderful B & B and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
