The worst motel I have stayed in anywhere in the world.

This is the worst motel I have stayed in anywhere in the world.
The Rangiora Lodge Motel’s website and the photos for the motel on Booking.com contain a number of false representations including:
- the owners are not ‘Sam and Max’ - these are apparently the previous owners,
- the rooms are not ‘well appointed’ - the fittings, furniture and kitchen items are extremely basic,
- the photos (motel website & Booking.com) show different fittings and furniture that are of a much higher quality and the photos show well maintained grounds when in reality the grounds are in poor condition (photos of the actual state of the motel & some Booking.com photos attached ),
- the couches advertised on the websites were not there and instead there were barely padded, very uncomfortable, waiting room benches,
- despite the motel website & Booking.com stated there was Sky/satellite channels - there only appears to be terrestrial freeview (can't confirm as the TV wasn't working and despite asking for it to be fixed, nothing was done).
When I sought to get a part refund when checking out I was hung up on when I called the phone number stuck the door at the locked and empty reception.
The motel isn't answering its messages through Booking.com, or by phone, and didn't respond to Booking.com when they contacted the motel (Booking.com call centre staff were very helpful).
I spoke to some other guests who confirmed their rooms were just as bad, including poor cleanliness.

This place was the most disgusting room we have ever seen. It should not be let out at all. Room 8 the bed had a huge divot in the middle so very uncomfortable. There was no tea, coffee or sugar sachets, no milk, and a big sticky red substance looked like blood in bottom of fridge. Only two lights in room worked and it was very dark. Multiplugs with cords everywhere. In the ‘bathroom’. The toilet was behind a grotty old shower curtain. Dirty used towel hanging in the bathroom. There was mould covering the walls. The shower was hideous no way were we getting in that, black and mouldy on the shower floor. It was under what looked like the hotel residence. 0 rating would not recommend anyone stay here, quite possibly the worst hotel in NZ. We had to stay as from out of town and had a function on.

Disappointed not a home away from home

Laundry professionally cleaned so that’s a bonus Housekeeping leaves a lot for improvement (see pics)
Sanitiser on hands needed used on leaving.
We did not shower in black mould spores and didn’t have jandels to wear in shower
Door was left open and key left on table as we communicated we were arriving 8:30pm
Saw man from unit No 6 leaving our unit thought that was odd?
No milk in fridge and all coffee and drinking chocolate replaced with Porters tea sachets.
Made second trip to Z to get coffee as well as milk
So then suspected the man from unit No1 !
Few tips here to move forward I would be black listed if this was a review on Airbnb for myself

Absolutely horrific

Absolutely disgusting. See photos. Unsanitary. Do not stay here. Our room was like a bunker under main house. Facilities gardens all terrible,laundry beside our room was terrible. Mould everywhere. Stained bed covers filthy carpets

Tired old motel

Tired dirty motel , but the sheets were clean the only thing that really was. I could hear the toilet in the next unit, beds were not comfortable. It really needs to be updated and deep cleaned. There were broken lights bulbs, no information included in the rooms and no information about wifi
