Morrillo Beach at its best!
The 2 owners and their team keep a layed back atmosphere at Casa Morrillo. The rooms are basic and spotlessly clean. The location at Morrillo Beach is truly outstanding. A 4by4 vehicle comes handy as soon as you leave the main road. Food is available and nice as well. There is however no selection but one or two dishes per meal. We very much enjoyed the quiet and pleasant atmosphere and the friendly and helpful attention of the team and cat Morri. Sunsets where amazing!

Uncomfortably, brutally hot, you would expect air conditioning for the price
We booked, not knowing that it was going to be 94 degrees F (34.4C) in the rooms with no AC. You would think that over $80 a night would be at least comfortable. This was the most miserable place I have stayed in a while, a sparse, tiny room with concrete floors, a hard bed, and a floor fan. The young lady who made us breakfast was nice, it is right in front of a beach, and when conditions are right looks good for surfing. I guess if you are used to sleeping in brutal heat, maybe the atmosphere is for you, but definitely not a good value for what you get. We left a day early, even though we prepaid, it was that bad.

A small paradise that deserves to be enjoyed, after 1.5 km of track
If you’re looking for the classic hotel service — comfort, air conditioning, hot showers, organized activities, shops — come your way.
We come here for the raw nature, a huge wild and deserted beach, the sincere kindness of the team and, of course, surfing. Playa Morillo offers some of the most consistent and sensitive waves in Central America.
The place was founded five years ago by a group of extremely friendly Argentine surfers. They are not hotel professionals, but they welcome with heart, smile and great relaxation, and manage the place with a very personal and authentic style.
The small number of rooms creates a unique atmosphere: in 24 hours, everyone knows each other and exchanges naturally.
The food is simple and healthy: a unique dish, sometimes not very varied, but prepared with local products — keep in mind that all the supply is complicated in this isolated area.
Electricity is 100% solar; water is more valuable than elsewhere (to use with conscience), but wifi works amazingly well.
They offer high quality boards for rent (Al Merrick).
Remember to come with your soap and shampoo.
The rooms are simple and small, equipped with fans, but each has a small sofa in front of the window, perfect for admiring nature and relaxing after a surf session.

• vary the menus a little more at lunch
• offer a menu with drinks prices

A place in paradise that could be improved
Stunning setting and decent facilities. It’s so cool to wake up here and have a beautiful beach just few meters away.
Hard to find it in the middle of the night as it’s not marked properly on google maps.
Last few km coming by 4x4 recommended.
Very limited options for breakfast and other food. Note there is no proper restaurant to choose food from a many, but just one dish available. Whatever we tried was just average and overpriced, but since you are in the middle of nothing, you have no other options in the night especially. You are not allowed to bring your own food also.
The room was basic, but the mattress was extremely comfortable and WiFi worked very well. No toiletries except for a leftover piece of soap.
The place seems to be run by a small group of surfers and management could be improved.
Plenty of coconut trees around, they could offer some coco drinks for breakfast, for example. Or put more hammocks around.
