My experience in Chivay.

Beautiful hotel with a privileged view of the town of Chivay. The room is super cozy, equipped with heating and an electric blanket for the cold, which allowed for a warm sleep. The restaurant has limited hours; we ordered a coffee, but they serve dinner from 6 to 8 PM. Breakfast includes eggs, bread, coffee, and mate, quite fulfilling and delicious. The service from the staff is very friendly and attentive. I believe that one night of rest and enjoying the hotel is essential to complete the visit to Colca. I recommend it.

The hotel has potential, but little passion is put into it. The only location in Peru where employees would rather not be there. The restaurant is avoidable, breakfast is very poor. The rooms are tidy and there is enough provision to keep it warm enough. The water is either hot or cold.

Plenty of character!

This hotel has plenty of character! The rooms are woody and at first we thought it would be noisy at night but when everyone had settled for the night, we slept well. My husband had altitude sickness and the receptionist immediately made oxygen available to him to use when he needed it. It was also free. The restaurant was average but we did not know where else to go to and it was only for one night anyway. A pleasant setting around a courtyard.

Acceptable hotel that has to improve on basic things.

Simple hotel that has good things to highlight like the environment you are in, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff, but also has other basic things to improve, especially the Breakfast Service.
This hotel has no Capacity (in covers) to serve breakfast to more than 50 people at a time, which was what happened during our stay.
It can’t be that a breakfast Service that starts at 5.30 at 6 am is sold out, including crockery. You have to wait in long lines to choose between 4 basic things that also sell out soon. There's only one girl to replenish products and pick up tables, and it's not enough.
Very improved Service.
As a detail, it is also useful to have in the bathroom a small towel for when you leave the shower.

Accessible via the Bridge of Chivay

The alpaca steak was fine, but the breakfast buffet was a bit unkind. Very nice hotel complex, nice reception at reception. The room was clean, with electric blanket that we actually needed too. You can walk to the town. The best thing was the observatory vis-á-vis, absolutely passing.
