Will be back without a doubt

After ten days in the rainforest, all I could think about on the bus back to Iquitos was the fresh sheets, comfortable pillow, hot shower and air conditioning. Turns out none of the above are a guarantee in Peru, but at this place, they are.
Sombrero de Paja is an oasis of tranquility tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Iquitos. At the same time, it’s within close enough distance to everything. The rickshaw ride into the heart of downtown is just long enough for you to pause and reflect as you take in the sights as you head into town.
Having a place and space to breathe, relax, and get a good night’s sleep for me was essential before and after my trip to the jungle, (especially it being a medicine journey). This place will give you the chance to get some rest before the next step on your Peruvian adventure.
Finally, the friendly staff and attentive service puts this place over the top for me as really the only place I want to stay in Iquitos. The owner will introduce himself and make sure you’re comfortable and that you have all you need. The welcoming smiles and excellent service makes Sombrero de Paja feel like my home away from home.

Interesting place

The food is good and not expensive. The fact that you can feed the paiches and lizards is a plus. The place is quite nice. The only thing I didn't like the second time I went was that they do not provide the regular menu during weekends, having less options for the costumers and usually the dishes during weekends are not traditional food (I would prefer to eat something from the region, especially if the restaurant is know because of that).

Un lugar excelente para disfrutar de la muy buena preparación de los diferentes tipos de comidas, muy acogedor por sus instalaciones hechas de material de la selva que refleja el espíritu y la alegría propia de la gente de nuestra selva amazónica.

Lindo lugar. Buena atención. Muy tranquilo. Lindos jardines. Muy bien cuidado y limpio. Personal amable. Rica comida. Muy recomendable. El personal muy educado y amable. Da gusto observar sus jardines. Aceptan muchas tarjetas de crédito.
