Shame on Konin!

Much as I appreciate the front desk staff being friendly and helpful and like my window view, nothing else meets even basic standards; no AC, no mini-fridges, only poky little rooms with the smallest bathrooms in the world.

3 min walk from station, decent standard, no bells & whistles

Big hotel, relatively well-maintained, serves breakfast. Guests mainly middle-aged Polish or Russian-speaking as well as international conference participants of all ages.
3 minutes' walk to Konin railway station, under 20' brisk walk to the old town, 30' brisk walk to the PWSZ conference centre (in Popiełuszki St., which is further than the PWSZ building marked on the map). Bigger supermarkets also a walk away. A restaurant on the premises (closing at 10 p.m.), another restaurant and cafe in hotel 'Pałacyk' 2 minutes' walk away across the street (closing at 11 p.m.).
The front desk and cleaners are friendly and speak some English. The front desk are additionally communicative in Russian and German. Toiletries and towels will be replaced daily if you ask; they don't make the bed.
Quite decent Polish breakfast buffet with a selection of cold dishes (cold cuts, cottage and ripe cheese, boiled or faw vegetable salad, pickles, jam), wieners, eggs (scrambled will be made to order), juices, tea and coffee. Overall quite tasty. Clean if a bit old-style decor.
There are two categories of rooms: ***(classic) on the lower floors are larger (both bedroom and bathroom) and have all new furniture; **(standard) are smaller, and e.g. the armchair upholstery looks a bit used up. The ** room has a bed, middle-sized and night table, armchair, coat hanger, cupboard, old kinescope-style TV set, phone, heater (efficient; the *** rooms allegedly come with air-conditioning) and a wall picture; a shower, toilet and washbasin. Some toiletries (soap, shampoo and shower gel) are provided. The blinds do not completely block out the light, and are a little bit yellowed; there are some marks on the walls as well. The rooms are generally quite quiet with the windows closed. In my room and another some water would leak from the pipe after flushing, but this was insulated the next day. There is free WiFi in the rooms, although its strength and speed depends on the exact location - in three rooms it was next to unusable (and you needed to go out to the hallway or go down to the lobby), in two others no problem at all.

one of the soso choice....

Konin is not very popular city, so u dont have many hotels to choose. THis is basic Hotel, I always book this hotel for friends who are comming to Konin. Centraly located, Average rooms, u cant get Hilton in Konin so u will get at least Comfort Inn :-)

Descent hotel for short business trips.

Hotel is situated near to center of town, rooms are clean enough and equipped with avarage quality things you may need for short stay. Rooms are quiet except hammering noise of heaters when there is heat regulation in system (which generally occurs in early morning). Parking is not free. Internet connection is not bad, but not enough for watching movies.

Hotel in city centre

I spent a night in the hotel. Want to have executive room but due to late reservation all was booked. I got standard room for smookers (I am non-smoker) as last available room. I was surprised. All clean and tidy. Even smoke of cigarettes was not stinking. Bed and equipment old, but for price I've paid can no complaint.
Location few steps from station which is great plus (oned star for location).
