Great hostel

Perfectly located just a few minutes walk from Old Market. The extremely nice staff greeted us and offered an upgrade to a room with a private bathroom for just a few PLN. The room was nice with 2 bunk beds and a bathroom with a shower. There is a huge, well-equipped kitchen and a large sitting area. There was a festival in town so prices were high but still good value. Definitely, next time I'm in Poznań I'll check if there are rooms available.

La Guitarra Hostel

La guitarra hostel is not nice place to stay. Very laud room mates. Staff not helpful. Hostel is far deep behind some gate. Crazy people , local homeless people stay there and criminals too. I was terrified and could not sleep all night. Not recommended.

Good staff, clean hostel, close to the center

The entrance it's a bit strange but inside it's a different world. The staff is great, we warned them we would arrive around 1am (despite the check-in was until 23h) and they just asked us to call when we arrived in Poznan and we did easily the check-in.
The rooms and common areas are clean and cozy. It's located in a quite area and it's easily reachable by foot from the center 10min. The main bus station is 20min away by foot.

They are scam artists: Avoid avoid avoid

I will start from the beginning, we originally booked for one night and then received this weird email saying the booking had been cancelled as the hostel was going out of business. I called the hostel and they said this was a mistake and to ignore it. We thought nothing more of it and ended up extending our stay to two nights (we had written proof of this).
We called the hostel the day of our check in to inform them that we were getting a night train from Krakow so would be arriving late. The rude man on the phone said it didn't matter when we checked in and hung up. We then arrived at the hostel at 6 am to find that they had cancelled our booking and sold our room to someone else, meaning we had nowhere to sleep. The woman at reception did not apologise once and rudely stated it had been cancelled by us (which was not remotely true) and that we would have to wait until two to check in. This was a terrible first impression and a sign of more bad experiences to come.
We paid a 20 zloty deposit for our key cards but when we were checking out they said they wouldn't give it back to us as it was an outstanding balance on the bill (this was not true as it had already been paid in full). They also said we owed money for the 'cancelled booking' even though it was them that cancelled it and not us.
They made up loads of lies to cover their scam but in the end we couldn't get it back no matter got hard we tried! They are complete scam artists and liars!!
The other main downside is that there were next to no other people in the hostel making it feel eerie and creepy. Also, wifi is extra which is a joke. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
Avoid this place at all costs!!

Ideal Hostel for a budget holiday

Room for 2 - single beds as requested - clean - very comfortable beds - small but adequate en-suite with an excellent shower with constant hot water. Breakfast - help yourself with cereals / bread / toaster / usual cheese slices and meats / tea and coffee.Situated in a court yard very close to the main square - about 10 minutes walk. Plenty of bars serving alcohol and coffee plus a good array of food. Hostel is mainly for the student types but very friendly.
