Sleek and cool spot to kick off your Algarvian trip

We used the Modernist on our way in and out of a longer stay in Olhao. Check in and out is super easy and the location is very central. Loved the clean lines and deceptively minimalist look with careful attention to the details that set a place apart. Beautiful lighting and nice touch of the red and grey Burel blankets. Enjoyed the wild herb fragrant garden and roof top to watch swifts and storks. Great recommendations for dining etc and special mention to the lovely bookshop just by the entrance.

Great location! Great value for money!

We came here for our mini moon as we weren’t staying for too long and wanted to be in the heart of Faro - we were not disappointed! At first when we walked in, I was initially underwhelmed by the basic design of the apartment, however, once settling in, we found it to provide everything that we would need for a short stay and became comfortable very quickly. The AC unit worked perfectly, even though at first we struggled to locate its whereabouts (by the bedroom window in the gap!). We found our time was utilised well due to being in such a great, central location. We managed to get around with ease before returning back to sunbathe on our balcony. The balcony has some privacy, but there are only bars between yourselves and next door, so some may wish for more privacy, however our neighbour was extremely pleasant and was not there much. If we returned to Faro, we would definitely stay here again. Well worth the cost!

Nice apartment well located

Nice apartment well placed for the pedestrian area and the old town Nicely appointed and furnished. Heavy curtain to keep light out in front of the bed. Nice roof terrace. There is a nice café diagonally opposite the apartment. There is a balcony where you can sit and watch the world go by. As others have mentioned this apartment in on a busy thoroughfare so in the day there is a fair amount of street noise but it seems ok at night.

Perfect

Perfectly situated apartment, one minute from marina and close to many restaurants and bars. Very close to old town too.
Apartment is immaculately clean and well fitted out. It overlooks the pedestrianised street on one side which is fascinating and it’s lovely to hear the street music coming up.
It could be considered a little noisy if you only need silence at all times.
There is some noise at night but close the windows and you don’t hear anything.
Really enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay again

Modernist gem in downtown Faro

I stayed at The Modernist during Faro’s Modernist Weekend, a wonderful initiative of The Modernist’s owners. The apartment was paired down but very comfortable and renovated and furnished with impeccable taste. The owners’ passion for Faro’s modernist heritage shines through in all the details. Also very clean.
